My family and I stayed at Hotel Villa Morgagni October 10-12, 2009 and we were so pleased with our selection. The hotel itself is beautiful - our rooms were large, with comfortable beds, nice linens, soft towels and plenty of upscale toiletries. Because it is set off the street a bit, it is VERY quiet! Like a little oasis in Rome. A luxury for us having just spent 5 nights in Florence on a very busy street. We had the outdoor terrace to ourselves - like a private patio. Perfect place to enjoy a bottle of wine and some snacks that we brought with us, and the hotel even arranged for some take out chicken nuggets for the kids.
While it is off the beaten path a bit, it's a very easy and quick metro or bus ride into the action. Even my 78 year old father thought it was easy!

The best part of the hotel was the service. Everyone was so helpful and kind and truly made our brief stay all the more enjoyable. In fact, when they heard we were ripped off by taxi drivers charging us more than double for the ride from the train station, they arranged for a shuttle to the airport at a significant discount. We were given complimentary bottles of water for the ride, and even offered free cappucinos.

I highly recommend this hotel if you don't feel like you need to be in the middle of the action and want a peaceful place to hang your hat in chaotic Rome. And if service is important, then this is the place for you.

A good hotel to use as a base for exploring Rome. The Metro is less than 5 minutes away and will quickly get you many places inside the city. Room was an OK size with a nice clean bathroom. Absolutely zero view out the window, but I wasn't in Rome to look out the hotel window. There are a few places to eat around the hotel, less touristy and good food. Overall a good clean hotel. A little surprised to find that the two glasses of wine at the bar were $26! The breakfast was fine, nothing fancy.

We booked this hotel based on the price and the reviews from tripadvisor as well as a number of other travel sites. First, and most importantly, this hotel is a bit outside where many of Rome's attractions are situated. It took us about 30 minutes to walk to the ancient part of the city, which isn't bad but can be irritating after a long day of site seeing. The good thing is the hotel is a 2 minute walk from the metro and the bus stops right outside, which made everything much more convenient. The room itself was clean, spacious, and the bed was quite comfortable. There was a number of balconies that don't provide much of a view, but are very nice for enjoying the weather and sipping on cappucino. The breakfast was adequate offering a number of brioche, cereals, and a couple of mediocre hot options; make sure you ask for a cappucino as the "American Coffee" is not very good. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and everyone spoke english. Internet is available, but costs 4e/hr. Overall, this is the perfect place if you want to save some cash but stay in a very nice hotel AND if you are ok with either a walk or taking public transportation to get to and from the sites (each way on the metro is 1e...not too bad).

We recently returned from another great trip to Italy. We stayed at this hotel and were extremely happy with everything about it. Our room was spacious and very clean, furnishings were fresh and well done, and the bathroom was very large with a jetted tub. The location was a little out of the way from center of the city (we prefer that), however it was just a one minute walk to the metro stop, the bus stopped right in front of the hotel, and the street was very quiet at night. The staff was very helpful and always friendly. Breakfast was pretty much the usual fare but always well presented and plentiful. I would definitely recommend this hotel for those who have been to Roma before and are looking for a quiet, neighborhood-type place to stay while enjoying the charm of this wonderful city.

Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. Located in quiet residential area, which is a benefit for anyone who's been walking all day and stumbled on huge crowds everywhere. Such a relief to see a cute entrance alley leading to a hotel. very clean, nice rooms with good AC. Very attentive staff with decent English. Marbled bathroom. Rooms are a bit tiny, but very tall ceilings. Not many people aware of two beautiful terraces the hotel has, where you can enjoy your glass of wine and a cheese plate. Oh, breakfast is outdoors!!
