Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights during the end of our 2 1/2 week trip to Italy. Sadly, this was my least favorite out of the 5 hotels we stayed at on our trip. When we checked in the first night, we were given an extremely small room with a queen size bed. We had booked a room with two twin beds, but were told they had no more rooms (by the way, it's room number 310 - okay if you're travelling alone, or don't have a lot ot luggage). The gentleman working at the front desk was not very nice, and treated us like we should have been happy with the room we got. Luckily, the next day another gentleman was working at the front desk, and we were moved to another larger room with twin beds. The room was okay, but loud because of it's location (room number 304) which was right over Via del Corso street. It was definitely better than the first room.

Good points about this hotel: location (near the Piazza di Spagna and the Piazza Del Popolo), good buffet breakfast, nice reading room, rooftop bar, and free internet service.

Bad points: service was iffy (one front desk staff member was not helpful and condescending, the others were fine), room and bathroom were not that clean, rooms need to be updated.

We based our decision to stay here from the reviews on this website. I've read more bad reviews lately, so I guess it's just the luck of the draw. Overall, I don't think I'd stay at this hotel again when I go back to Rome.

Recommendations: *EDY restaurant about three blocks from the hotel (they can give you directions at the hotel) - great food and service (not touristy)
*Ristorante Barberini - at Piazza Barberini (Via della Purificazoione 21) - wonderful, family-run restaurant - great food and service
*Il Gelato Di San Crispino (Via della Panetteria 42 - near the Trevi Fountain) - fantastic gelato!
*Get reservations on-line for the Galleria Borghese and the Colosseum at the SelectItaly.com website. It will save you from long waits in line. Definitely worth it.

We have just returned from a week in Rome. Hotel Mozart was the perfect place to stay for our family vacation. We had three different type rooms,
classic, superior, and deluxe. All of the rooms were clean and well appointed. The bathrooms are all marble. Showers are small but the water was hot! The mini bar was well stocked.

Breakfast was served in a delightful dining room. It consisted of a variety of meats, cheese, pastry, cold cereal, coffee, and juice.

The sitting room was very nice and included a computer.

The rooftop bar was a cozy retreat after a hard day of sight seeing.

The staff was friendly and helpful. They called taxis, suggested restaurants, and made dinner reservations for us.

I will be staying here the next time I am in Rome.

Myself and 3 other people recently stayed at Hotel Mozart for 3 days. During our stay we encountered many pros and cons. When we first checked in we were given 2 rooms, for the 4 of us. Our friend's room was ok, but ours smeeld like it had just been fumagated for ants. We called the desk and they said that no other rooms were available, as the hotel was fully booked until tomorrow. The stench in the room was unbearable and we told them that we would cancel the 2 rooms for 3 days, unless we were switched. Well, this worked and they miracolously found another room. CON number 1! The rooms at the Mozart are pretty small, they have not been renovated and our bedspread was stained and smelly. The bathrooms were marble, but with a shower that was tiny or a bathtub with no shower curtain.

CON number 2 occurred when, (please note, we had booked a tour to the Vatican through the Mozart over a month ago) we first checked in and the gentleman behind the desk confirmed our tour to the Vatican the following morning, even telling us when to be downstairs. Well to our surprise, we discovered the morning of our tour, that they had bever signed us up for a tour...so after scrambling and a few threats we finally got on to another tour for that day. Meanwhile not one person at the Mozart apologized for their mistake! Con 3...the staff can be very unhelpful and borderline rude, especially the bartender on the upstairs deck. PRO 1...the location is great...very central to everything. PRO 2...the breakfast is actually decent...One last thing, try to avoid having your laundry done at the Mozart, we did about 7 articles of clothing and it cost us 35 euro!!!

We stayed in Mozart in March 2005 for a week. On the whole the hotel has made a good impression: halls are nicely decorated, rooms are clean, staff is rather friendly. The only problem was: when we arrived our room wasn't ready yet (it was about 1 p.m) and we had to wait for 1,5 hour. As for location, via dei Greci is a very quiet street (especially in comparison with via del Corso) and it is not a "long dark alley" as someone has described it. If you wanna go shopping the location is great (all famous boutiques are situated in 5-10 minutes walking distance). But if you plan to go sightseeing a lot, maybe it's better to choose a hotel closer to Panteon and Pl. Venezia (it would be easier to get to Vatican, Trastevere and some other districts). Anyway Mozart is normal too: walking is very good for health and old Rome is really beautiful.

I loved this hotel and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone, I booked 2 superior twin rooms in the hotel itself, for 4 adults, we stayed for 4 nights, got a great deal as we booked some months in advance. I emailed the hotel many times and my queries were always dealt with promptly. The hotel is in a great location, just off Via del corso and not down a dingy side street, because of the one way system if you are getting dropped off by a taxi, they come from the other side which is further down the street than coming from the Via del Corso side.

What I liked:
The rooms were beautiful and clean, tiled floor and full marble bathroom with bath and shower.
Good buffet breakfast.
Staff, polite and attentive and even rang a restaurant one night to make reservations and booked a taxi to bring us there etc.
Rooftop bar.
Great location, between Piazza del Popollo and the Spanish steps, a supermarket nearby and fruit stalls.
Good restaurant about a 10 minute walk called Otello on Via del Croce about 3 blocks down from Via Del Greci where hotel is located.
Free internet access.

Suggestions/Room for improvement:
I always like to give the good and well and the bad but it this case there were no bad points about the hotel, we had no complaints, the only thing I would suggest as a 'nice to have' is that after you check out and have an evening flight it would be nice if there was someplace to shower, some hotels have a courtesy room that you could use for this purpose but the hotel was booked so had no room available, if they had a shower in the avaiable bathroom downstairs it would be perfect.

But to summarise:
Would definitely stay here again.
