This place was pretty nasty. Unidentified spatter stains above the bed on the velour wall covering. Stained & dirty carpeting, dirty bathroom. Crappy breakfast room & food. The list goes on. On the plus side, the staff was friendly, which helped great when they pulled the familiar "gosh our credit card machine is broken; pay cash" game (only in Rome do you see this). Since we were headed out the door with luggage in tow and only 20 Euros in cash in pocket, they were quick to come back with the creative idea of running our Visa through the old-time imprinter and putting it in the system later. If you only need to stay in Rome 1 night & fly out the next AM, spring the extra bucks and stay at the airport Hilton.

First time in my life I found a place I'd already paid for too dangerous and dirty to stay in. The cab driver who dropped us off looked worried, and I soon discovered why. We had to walk past homeless and drunk people in the doorway. Hotel up on the third floor.

Iron cage of an antique elevator with graffiti. Huge holes in the floorboards, filthy stains on the carpeting, wardrobe door off hinges, no bar soap, towels were thin tea towel material. Didn't feel safe there. Pictures on internet booking site not accurate. Insisted that booking site refund our money. Do not even think about staying here.
