This was such a quaint hotel that is centered where most everything is in walking distance. Salvo and Vera are so wonderful and helpful. Salvo will map out a walking tour that made seeing the Pantheon, Trvi Fountain, St Peters easily accessable by foot. The rooms are quaint. Compared to the prices of other centered hotels this was so reasonable!! Like our travel agent said ...location location location. You spend less time and money trying to get to a place with the metro and trains cause you are right there. Basic continental breakfast but it gets you started.Cafes and restaurants are a dime a dozen around there.

This is a very nice B&B in a terrific location in Central Rome. It is across the river from Hadrian's tomb, 5 minutes from Piazza Navona and 10 minutes from the Spanish Steps. We stayed there 6 years ago with 4 adult children and it is just as nice, if not nicer, than it was then. There is an option to have your breakfast in a common breakfast room or in your room. There is free wireless internet throughout the space and a computer specifically for the use of the guest who didn't bring their own. The room in which we stayed was large and nicely decorated with a king sized bed and a sofa. There were two closets for storage but no drawers. The windows were double glazed (actually there was an outer and an inner window). I would have preferred a little brighter light in the room, but that is minor. The only downside was that the bathroom window was not double glazed allowing lot of noise to enter the room (someone behind us was having a terrific party every night), but if we closed the bathroom door at night, it was no problem. The lack of insulation of the bathroom window might make the bathroom cold in the winter.

The Residenza was amazing. When we first arrived, the bellman gave us a map and explained the entire city to us. He answered any questions, and was incredibly helpful. The breakfast was always amazing, they had a computer to use for free internet, it was in the center of the city, and everything was in walking distance.
It was very close to the Piazza Navona which was a lot of fun to go people watch every night. The first day we were there, Julia Roberts was filming Eat, Pray, Love there, and it was a lot of fun to watch everything happen.
We walked everywhere in Rome, and loved coming home to our air conditioned room. Also, the bathroom & room were huge! Very close to everything, and a great price. I'll be back!

I stayed in 4 different hotels while i was in italy and residenza ave roma is the best.. I've read tons of reviews before i book and what i read i just found..its a tiny one floor hotel. Super clean (for me this is the most important)..5 minutes walking from castle saint angelo, Piazza navona..10 minutes or less to spanish steps..every thing is close to this hotel. Beakfast is nothing special but u will have a good meal. definitly not suitable for honeymooners but for any one else its a perfect place. Salvo the hotel's owner is probably the best person i've met in Italy. he's very friendly and informative..Simply you feel at home at this hotel and definitly it wont be my last visit..arivaderche Salvo :)

We were looking for an affordable hotel to stay at during our first trip to Italy during our honeymoon. Our travel agent found us this hotel and booked it for us. The hotel manager was waiting outside the front door for our arrival and greeted us by our names. He gave us maps and walking directions and the best advice for great local eateries and all the local attractions. We found our way around and saw everything in a mere 3 days...we LOVED Rome and this hotel was absolutely awesome. The breakfast was good enough to start off your day, we had croissants and pastries, jams and Nutella. The young lady who helped with the service was an absolute sweetheart and she too gave us great tips on how to start our day and what to see and what not to miss out on. The rooms are a good enough size, when in Rome - how much are you in the hotel anyway? the hotel only had 8 rooms, we had the Red Room for the honeymooners - ha ha. everything was clean, nothing fancy, no view except to a local side street. The bathroom had a shower stall and always had fresh towels. Everything was clean which was the most important to us. it was walking distance to the Vatican and all the other attractions like the Pantheon, Spanish Steps and Trevi fountain. We probably could have walked but we took the city bus to the Colloseum. There were many squares and piazzas near the hotel so finding an eatery was easy, picking one was a difficult choice. I was nervous staying at this hotel after hearing how tiny it was but I will stay there again..
