We stayed at Ave Roma for 3 nights from 22-25 March. We arrived a little weary to be met by a very cheerful Salvo who gave us a very helpful map and told us how to get to places. The map was better than one I had paid for - there are so so many sights in Rome it's difficult if you get lost to get your bearings but map that the infamous Salvo gave us even had little pictures of the buildings!!
We were given the option of having breakfast in the room but we were more than happy to sit in the breakfast area - it's very small and doesn't seat more than 6 people but this wasn't a problem while we were there.
The staff were all brilliant - I was surprised when we returned one day to find the housekeeper giving the floor to our room a thorough wash! That's the sort of attention to detail I would have thought would be saved for in between guests!
The hotel is very inconspicuous but it has the advantage of being alongside the river so it is always easy to find after a day's walking (unlike some of the the hotels we spotted down narrow lanes!)
I would absolutely return!
