I researched for weeks on where to stay for my 5 day trip to Rome. This one was short-listed due to the great reviews and then spotted an amazing value offer on a late-deal website which swung it for me. I am so glad I went for it and on reflection would have been happy to pay much more than I did!
Salvo greeted me and my partner on our arrival and couldn't have been nicer or more attemtive throughout our stay - even showing us clips of movies on youtube! He was the perfect host. I was delighted when he showed us to our room (5) as it was the one I had seen on their website and loved! Four poster bed - beautiful upholstered walls - angel art work.. It was better than it looked on their site actually - much brighter! Even had a small balcony and chair. Everything was spotless in the room and worked fine - air con, mini bar, tv etc. The bathroom was very modern with bath, great shower huge sink and pinstripe blue tiles - towels and toiletries were plentiful and replenished everyday.
Breakfast was served in our room every morning - all we had to do was call front desk - it was croissants, toast, tea, yogurt and cake and absolutely delicious!
the other fabulous thing was the location of this hotel. Salvo gave us a 'tour' of Rome when we got there using a map he gave us to keep. I think he estimated the Colosseum was 40 minutes walk but it was alot closer than that - 25 at most! Everything we wanted to see was easily accessible on foot and never needed to bother with a bus.
so Rome was beautiful - as was this hotel, I will definitely go back to it should I be in Rome again!
The only reason it wasn't perfect is because the room did not have a kettle but this shouldn't bother most people I guess - I just have an unhealthy obsession with tea! There are certainly enoughplaces around to go and buy a cup!
