This hotel was just magnificent! Being a young and happy couple on our first holiday together, this was the perfect place! The hotel was typical Rome, small, but very beautiful. The staff were so helpful, especially the gentlemen that greated us, he highlighted areas on a map and advised us of where to go when. The staff were so friendly. The breakfast was what was expected, the usual continental food, nothing special though. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The only problem we had, was actually finding the hotel as it really does not look like a hotel from the outside! Luckily, we called the hotel and a member of staff came out and found us to take us there after i was in a foul mood because the taxi driver had completely ripped us off from the train station, this made a good start to our holiday. It is certainly a place for couples and is great value for money. I would reccomend this place to family and friends and also would return there if i were to visit rome again.

Residenza Ave Roma is by far one of my most memorable hotel stays anywhere in the world. Upon arriving, Vera welcomed us in, poured us some drinks (Rome in August), and took us to our room (#6). Once inside, she showed us how everything worked in the room, probably just out of manners and hospitality, and then gave us a map and walked us through all the attractions, transportation, restaurants, etc. The room was enormous and the bathroom was spotlessly clean. Overall, we felt very comfortable. Salvo was around during the late afternoon, evening and was more than happy to suggest restaurants, places to go out, etc. With him realizing that we are NYers: "Travestere = East Village," we were more than excited to take his suggestions to heart.

The location was the main reason why we decided on this hotel. It is in the heart of Rome - 5 minutes to Piazza Navona, maybe 8 minutes to Pantheon, 15 to Trevi Fountain, 10-15 to Spanish Steps, 15-20 to Vatican, 20 to Travestere. As you can see, we literally walked everywhere except to Colosseum and Forums. Being in Rome for only 2 days, we had done everything we wanted to do plus much more.

  • Liked — Location, the staff, large/clean room
  • Disliked — can't think of any

Two extremely weary first time travellers to Roma were welcomed with great gusto & enthasium from Salvo to a wonderfully appointed boutique hotel. The people that run Residenza Ave Roma are outstanding & do more than bend over backwards to assist their guests, they treat you like you are a valid member of an extended family. Residenza Ave Roma was our first hotel on our first Italian holiday & set such a great precedent that was never matched by anywhere else we stayed. If we ever have the opportunity to visit Roma again, we know exactly where we are going to stay - it is truely a home away from home with wonderful decor - it is a very special place with very special people.
I'd also like to recommend the Trattoria Lilli in the lane way behind the Residenza Ave Roma - the food is just wonderful - a true taste of Italy.

My boyfriend and I were visiting Rome for the first time and wanted to find a hotel which was close to all the attractions, located in a safe cultural area and reasonably priced - Residenza Ave Hotel ticked all these boxes.

Located within 10 - 15 mins walking distance of all the attractions this hotel was perfectly situated for sightseeing and taking in all the culture Rome has to offer. Surrounded by boutique restaurants and small clusters of shops, everything we needed was practically on our doorstep.

The staff were amazing, very attentive and always making sure we were enjoying our stay. Salvo even gave us his mobile number and told us to call him out of hours if we ever got lost or need help with anything.

Salvo was really helpful in pointing out the best places to see and ways to get there. We were originally going to book tickets on the 'hop on hop off' tour bus to all the main attractions but after speaking with Salvo we realised how close we were to everything and decided to walk the sights in stead. This was a great decision as it also allowed us to explore the romantic side streets and walkways of Rome. We did catch a local bus to the Colloseum which cost 1 euro each and departned within 2 mins walk of the hotel.

The hotel itself is very boutique with plenty of homely touches which make it special. The room was not huge but well decorated, very clean and perfect for a long weekend away. We stayed in room 5 which consisted of a 4 post bed, flat screen and well equipt bathroom.

Dont be put off by the outside of the hotel which is pretty much a door in the wall which could be easily missed. Having walked around Rome this seems to be the standard for boutique hotels in the area.

All in all this hotel is a real find with its charming quirks only adding to the experience . We loved Rome so much we are looking to go back in November and will definitely stay here again.
