Rgarick said it all in his review. (See below.) Stayed at this hotel prior to embarking on a cruise. As long as you know that it is a small "boutique" hotel, you won't be disappointed. Yes, it was overly decorated but we enjoyed the fact that it 's location was perfect for walking to many of the sights, e.g. Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Narvonne, and narrow, lovely streets for shopping and restaurants. You will need to take a taxi (reasonably priced) to St. Peter's Basilica. Very nice cold breakfast buffet in charming rooms on the top floor. Staff was wonderful and helpful. I e-mailed them with questions prior to the trip and they promptly responded. Would definitely stay there again.

Loved the location of this hotel, we walked everywhere from it! The staff where brilliant, friendly and helpful! We had three small children who also loved it although we left pram permantly downstairs. I booked by fax and the hotel kept in contact and organised airport transfers, having 3 children with us the only thing I could have asked for was a better choice of cereals. Decor very boutique, but again location was perfect

The pros of this hotel definitely outnumbered the cons, but I think whether or not you should stay here depends of what kind of traveler you are. Our biggest problem with this hotel was the front desk staff. Thankfully, we had booked our honeymoon through a travel agent and already had bus passes, Vatican tour tickets, etc. I say thankfully because if we did have any questions about the city, the staff was completely unhelpful. They did not go out of their way at all to be obliging. If you are dependent on this sort of help, this may not be the hotel for you.

That said, the location is wonderful! The neighborhoods behind the hotel are beautiful. We loved walking around and exploring and never felt unsafe. There were plenty of restaurants, shops and bars within easy walking distance. The Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, and Spanish Steps are all within walking distance as well.

When we arrived in Rome (and survived the crazy taxi ride!) I was surprised at how close this place was to all the action (ok the girlfriend booked it). So first off the location is superb for all your site-seeing adventures, and within walking distance to most places of significance.

The front door of the hotel initially wasn't easy to spot (as we nearly went past it), but the lobby is nice and secure. Staff were polite and friendly (even if a little scamish with regards to booking taxis when it comes to tourist vulnerability) - they tried to tell us that a booked taxi would be cheaper to book with them (but it wasn't). But then again, it is the European way!

Lots of stairs so thankfully there's a lift ... well a cute (read "tiny") lift which could be the world’s smallest lift? I think it was almost a service lift. Pretty much had to go one at a time with the luggage, but we were glad that there was one.

The room was good, quite nice actually, and was very eerily sound proofed like you were in a padded cell, I imagine. Complete with double windows it was very effective at keeping the street noise down, which would have been significant without it. The room decor was as other reviewers have written very red/green, but I thought it was fine.

Shower on the other hand had some issues with the hot water especially at peak times. It didn't go cold or hot gradually, but very suddenly. There were a few screams from the shower a couple of times.

The complimentary continental breakfast each morning was nice, and a good way to start the day. We were very thankful of that.

Overall we enjoyed our stay here. It was very clean and comfortable and great place to start your daily adventures from. Recommended as a place to stay in Rome.

We found the staff to be pleasant and helpful, especially Donatella in the breakfast room. Had no problems with the coffee machine. That said, don't book this hotel unless convenience is your number one priority. We were only in the room to rest and sleep. We found the room so unpleasant, we avoided returning to the hotel until we were completely exhausted. The chair cushions were not clean, I had to put tissue paper down in order to sit on the chairs. The upholstery was gaudy. This must be what a brothel looks like. Except for the dirty chair cushions the room was reasonable clean.
