When we arrived in Rome (and survived the crazy taxi ride!) I was surprised at how close this place was to all the action (ok the girlfriend booked it). So first off the location is superb for all your site-seeing adventures, and within walking distance to most places of significance.
The front door of the hotel initially wasn't easy to spot (as we nearly went past it), but the lobby is nice and secure. Staff were polite and friendly (even if a little scamish with regards to booking taxis when it comes to tourist vulnerability) - they tried to tell us that a booked taxi would be cheaper to book with them (but it wasn't). But then again, it is the European way!
Lots of stairs so thankfully there's a lift ... well a cute (read "tiny") lift which could be the world’s smallest lift? I think it was almost a service lift. Pretty much had to go one at a time with the luggage, but we were glad that there was one.
The room was good, quite nice actually, and was very eerily sound proofed like you were in a padded cell, I imagine. Complete with double windows it was very effective at keeping the street noise down, which would have been significant without it. The room decor was as other reviewers have written very red/green, but I thought it was fine.
Shower on the other hand had some issues with the hot water especially at peak times. It didn't go cold or hot gradually, but very suddenly. There were a few screams from the shower a couple of times.
The complimentary continental breakfast each morning was nice, and a good way to start the day. We were very thankful of that.
Overall we enjoyed our stay here. It was very clean and comfortable and great place to start your daily adventures from. Recommended as a place to stay in Rome.
