“Don't let the 4 stars on the front door fool you !”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2014

Well where do I start : The pool is empty, the small yard and patio around the pool poorly maintained. If you have to use the bathroom in the lobby you have to get out and enter another room to be able to wash your hands (completely unhygienic). The free breakfast - lol same thing everyday and the choices are very slim to put it nicely. Internet - what internet 20 euro for 2 hours - these people live in the stone age. Do not order a cocktail at the bar they will give you a warm cocktail in the middle of the summer, they treat ice as gold. The actual location of this hotel is in the neighborhood not in the tourist area - a lot of shady and aggressive street vendors on the way to and from metro also in Rome they put the trash dumpsters in the front of the buildings so you can imagine all the different rotting smells. The only view is off the apartment buildings around. Now on the positive side room was always very clean and the restaurant around the corner where italians buy their lunch and dinner is awesome with authentic italian food at reasonable prices.

Room Tip: Pay more and choose a different hotel !

Egregio Sig. Jake,

Couple, we stayed at Marc Aurelio a week. The location of the hotel is 10 minutes walking from Cornelia metro station. The rooms are the ones pictured on their website. The staff is friendly and the janitors clean the rooms daily. The fact that the breakfast was the same every day was not a problem for us as it was consistent and you had plenty of choices. At the reception you will find plenty informations about Rome, what to visit and you will be handed a map of the city. The only disadvantage is the Wi-Fi as it is not free and hasn't the best signal in the room.

Bit battered ... Needs decorating again..breakfast cold cakes and meats every day ..boring. Area is intimidating on the route from the very poorly maintained underground system , but hotel stands out like an oasis in the desert. Don't use the swimming pool as it is empty and has been for a long time .
A value hotel for a short visit to manic Rome and a short walk to the underground with good value day tickets... But before going to Rome lease do your homework because signeage is rubbish .. Impossible to use a wheelchair...steps everywhere including the underground.
New hotel tax sept 14 now 6e per person per night and taxi to airpor 40euros .

Egr. Signore,

The hotel was more or less Ok (in general).
The hotel is at 15 minutes of walk from Aurelia train station.
Room was clean, the furniture looks quite old .
Internet is available only if you pay extra fee.
Breakfast was the same everyday (which makes you wonder how fresh the food is); one day we got a boiled egg which was rotten.

The staff is very nice and helpful. Nice hotel, quiet and clean (the maids come every day). Pity that does not have free internet. The breakfast is the same everyday (9 days we stayed). The bus station (at 7 min. walk) that goes directly to Piazza Venezia or Vatican City. No problem with the AC or water.

We stayed at Marc Aurelio Hotel in April 2014 for 2 nights.
It is an ok hotel, with pretty big rooms, a comfy bed and clean bathroom.
The guy from reception did not speak very well English and it was a little hard to understand each other, but finally everything was ok.
The breakfast is the same everyday, but you have enough to eat.
Our room was fine, but our friends which stayed in another room, had problems with hot water in the shower (I think in the late hours, the hotel is stopping hot water).
The metro station is far away, but you have a bus station at max 10 min walk which goes directly to Vatican.

Very nice hotel, quiet, clean and with all the necessary facilities. The staff is very nice and helpful. There are buses to the city centre and the underground is at a walking distance. There are shops and restaurants nearby and a very good ice cream parlour just up the street!
