Honestly, this hotel was great and we were both pleasantly surprised. However, if you arrive to Rome airport after about 6pm you will struggle to find transport to get you there and will end up (as we did because we arrived at 9pm) paying 65euro for a taxi. If you get in early enough, catch the train to Termini, then Metro line A to Flaminius and then the train to La Celsa and it is about 3min walk down the hill to the hotel (right out of the station).

Once you are there, it only actually takes about 20min to get into Rome city centre and is really easily accessible with trains coming every 10mins. It does kind of feel like the 'ghetto' due to all the graffitti but we are two girls and we never once felt unsafe or insecure about the area.

Would definately return now that I know the above information.

I stayed at the Hotel Flaminius because a friend was getting married in a villa on the other side of Prima Porta. The hotel itself was very nice, the room was clean and a good size, also with a fridge which was very handy. The rooms are also airconditioned which is essential in Rome in August as it was 40 degrees most days and very humid! All the staff I dealt with were very polite and helpful. The hotel is a little outside Rome but it is only 200m to the train station, the trains run frequently and take 20 minutes to get into Flaminio Station, from which its very easy to get to all the tourist spots, also the train is only 1 euro per trip, but make sure you buy the ticket before you leave the hotel and be sure to validate it on the train or you will get fined! There are maps of rome and instructions on how to use public transport in the hotel lobby which we found very helpful. Overall the only thing I wasnt happy with is Prima Porta, the town where the hotel is- It's horrible. Everything is covered in graffitti, nothing seems to ever be open. We were stared at everywhere we went and there seems to be inumerable groups of men hanging around all the time which I found very intimidating. It's not a huge issue since you don't really need to go to Prima Porta for anything except the mini-mart (La Celsa Station is on the other side of the hotel) but just be prepared to spend all your time in central rome since there is nothing locally.

We chose this hotel, because the rate was exceptionally good compared to everything else we found, and also included a complimentary breakfast, and easy access to the metro. We also wished to stay outside of the city centre. It was in a very quiet neighbourhood. The hotel was clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy here, and perhaps a little dated, but the staff was very friendly and the breakfast was good. Room was small, but what you would expect for Europe, and included a balcony. VERY easy access to the metro, and a short 20 minute ride into the centre. Would highly recommend this hotel for the budget conscious traveller, and would stay there again myself.

The lift was not working on the day I arrived and to carry a heavy suitcase to the 2nd floor on a really hot day is not nice! One of the male staff at reception was moody and unfriendly! The vending machine in the hotel doesn not give change! My room and the bathroom facilities were ok! Although the fridge in the room was not working and only few coat hangers in the wardrobe! The tv channels are all in Italian so if you do not understand Italian what are you mean to do? The air conditioning in my room was set to a fixed level which can`t be increased past a certain level, which didn`t help on a hot night to get to sleep, so i had to leave open the door leading onto the balcany! One of the lights kept flickering at night time in my room so annoying! Other guests in the hotel slam doors and talk loud! One of the guests on a balcony nearby was siiting with his underpants only-not a pleasant sight! Breakfast gets crowded with people all trying to get food at same time! One man at breakfast sat there for 10 mins peeling differant fruits to create himself a fruit salad and poured yogurt over it-odd! The area outside the hotel feels unsafe, feels like Brixton London, bit like a ghetto. As you walk out the hotel you must be careful with taxis, cars and scooters driving really fast past you, i was concerned I might get knocked down or mugged! If you want to reach central rome, you need to get a train from the train station which is 5 mins walk from the hotel! But the station is all vandalised with graffiti and you feel uneasy using it!

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. It was very easy to get to from Flaminio Station. The nearest station to the hotel was La Celsa which was 20 minutes on the train but you do have to ring the bell for it to stop or it goes to the next stop but not alot of difference in the distance to the hotel. The hotel seemed a little "tired" but it was comfortable. In our room it seemed to need a bit of an update - Room 305, one of the walls was dirty but the bathroom was spotless, plenty of toilet roll and toiletries. The room was right next door to the lift and was quite noisy until about midnight! AUnfortunately there was nothing to eat in the evening but you could get a drink from the bar and sit in reception where there are comfy sofas. Internet was 1.50 euro for half an hour. There was a snack machine down here as well. The trains start running at 6.30am and there is a main road by the side. Breakfast was excellent - plenty of coffee, croissants, rolls, cheese, hams, yoghurts, fruit. It was not the best hotel I have stayed in but it was comfortable and easy to get to Rome from. The reception staff I found very helpful indeed.
