If you are visiting Rome and wish to be away from the noise of the city in a clean hotel and at a reasonable rate, I recommend this hotel. It is located in Vatican City, so you are in walking distance to the Vatican, but you need to take a cab into the city center. My wife and I stayed three days and three nights and only needed a taxi once (we went to the Panthenon square for dinner and walked over to the Trevi Fountain for a relaxing evening: worth doing!). We booked a full day tour to Pompeii and a full day tour (ancient/monumental) of the city of Rome, so we were picked up from the hotel by our tour carrier. The other day we had in Rome, we walked to the Vatican and Saint Peter's Basilica. If you do stay at Hotel Delle Vittorie, definitely walk around the corner to eat at Brasserie Pizza (ask for a menu translated into English - I recommend the Buffalo Cheese Speck Pizza: amazing). The front desk should be able to direct you to it; we found those at the front desk extremely helpful. The rooms are standard for a European hotel - two single beds attached as a double, with a medium sized room and bathroom. (Note: Not a hotel for those looking to experience Roman nightlife).

To get into the centre of Rome from this hotel you have to walk about 15 minutes to the Metro then get on a train. Can take up to 30 mins to get into the centre. I got pick pocketed on our 1st day at the Metro station so beware.

The day staff at the hotel are very rude & unhelpful. The night staff are much better but don't speak as much English. The hotel was clean enough & the breakfast was fab but waiting staff are very rude.

I found there was a mixture of nationalities staying at the hotel. I would not recommend it to a friend due to it's location, it's too far from the city centre which adds to your travelling costs. I would definitely return to Rome though, fantastic city with lots to do. Make sure you 'shop around' when you go out to eat as restaurants around the tourist areas are very expensive & you can find much cheaper places to eat just around the corner from the dearer places.

After reading many reviews on this hotel I decided to give it a try.
I wasn't disappointed it lived up to all expectations for a hotel of this size.
Yes its not in the centre of Rome but its near the Metro, that will get you to all locations.And a nice half hour walk from hotel to the Vatican.
I would certainly recommend a stay here again .

Stayed over Easter for 4 nights.

Location: 10 minute walk from Lepanto Metro station the hotel is easy to find.
20 minute stroll to St Peter's Square.

Nice ice cream shop close to hotel.

On arrival and throughout our stay the reception staff were helpful, polite and friendly.

Room and bathroom are a good size. Bedroom and bathroom spotless. Rooms cleaned and fresh towels daily. Sky TV channels although only CNN in English.

Surrounding area quiet we did not hear any traffic noise in room.

Continental breakfast: cereal, muesli, prunes, peaches. Eggs. Crackerbreads. Fresh Fruit. Juices were nice, especially the pineapple. Tea/coffee. The selection of sweet pastries were also very good.

We highly recommend this hotel as a base for a Roman city break.
