After reading many reviews on this hotel I decided to give it a try.
I wasn't disappointed it lived up to all expectations for a hotel of this size.
Yes its not in the centre of Rome but its near the Metro, that will get you to all locations. And a nice half hour walk from hotel to the Vatican.
I would certainly recommend a stay here again .

Stayed over Easter for 4 nights.

Location: 10 minute walk from Lepanto Metro station the hotel is easy to find.
20 minute stroll to St Peter's Square.

Nice ice cream shop close to hotel.

On arrival and throughout our stay the reception staff were helpful, polite and friendly.

Room and bathroom are a good size. Bedroom and bathroom spotless. Rooms cleaned and fresh towels daily. Sky TV channels although only CNN in English.

Surrounding area quiet we did not hear any traffic noise in room.

Continental breakfast: cereal, muesli, prunes, peaches. Eggs. Crackerbreads. Fresh Fruit. Juices were nice, especially the pineapple. Tea/coffee. The selection of sweet pastries were also very good.

We highly recommend this hotel as a base for a Roman city break.

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Delle Vittorie for 2 nights in April 2008. The hotel was not easy for the taxi driver to locate but eventually found the street. The hotel is located in a very quiet residential neighbourhood and is a 10 minute walk away from the train station and buses.

The room was spacious but basic and the toilet was clean and comfortable. There was no restaurant, only a breakfast room where a basic continental breakfast is served. The receptionist doubles as the concierge and was extremely helpful in helping us decide our tours. The lack of a restaurant in the hotel was not a problem as there was a restaurant barely 30 seconds walk on the corner called Vanni's. Excellent italian food!

Our one grouse was, being April it was quite warm and the rooms had no air-conditioners (apparently they provide them only in 'summer').

  • Liked — quiet location
  • Disliked — no air-conditioning, hard to find

A little off the beaten path but, once we figured out the metro it was no problem, it was a nice 10 minute walk to the station. Was most disappointed to find that it was 8 euro an hour to use there wifi or 20 euro for 24 hours that is a real rip off.

We spent 3 nights at this hotel in March 2009 and we would definitely return here in the future (that is if what they say about Trevi'c coin tossing was true, of course :) Firstly, the location is great. Even though there are probably cheaper and more numerous hotels in Termini area aimed at budget travelers, I'm very glad we chose the Prati area. The subway is at about 15 minutes walk on a quiet and real Roman neighborhood (hardly any tourists there, which is awesomely peaceful when returning home in the evenings, after being intoxicated with camera flashes and noisy high school kids all day long...)
The front desk staff is helpful enough and they make you feel you can approach them on any problem you might have. The room we got was quite large for European standards, decorated with pictures from the times when the building was an aristocratic point, while the bathroom was on the same level of appreciation. The only downside is that the breakfast room is quite small, but given the fact that there are only about 30 rooms in the hotel, congestion wasn't really a problem. Breakfast was ok, don't expect too much meat and cheese though - there's mostly sweet stuff , croissants and eggs. Nevertheless, you can absolutely get your fill for about 4-5 hours of walking and visiting.
All in all, choosing hotel Delle Vittorie was a small "vittoria" for us (vs Termini creepy area) and we highly recommend it for all type of travelers.
