After talking to a few friends about taking the train, my Mom and I decided to board the Leonardo Express from FCO airport, then tranfer to the Metro, and Finally get off at the Lepanto stop and walk from there. The walk from the metro was only about 10 minutes, and we saved A LOT of money by avoiding a taxi. The hotel is on a quiet street which is wonderful, we got a great nights sleep every night.

The front staff is very helpful, and spoke excellent english. Only downside- DO NOT go to the restaurant they recommend, the food was TERRIBLE, just stick with the small pizza places that are in the area. Our room it self was small, but perfect for what we wanted. The shower had hot water and we had fresh towels every day.

The breakfast was a lot bigger than I was expecting. They had fresh juice and a nice dessert spread daily, the hours were perfect, we just woke up, ate and left.

Like I said earlier, the Metro is the way to go, we made it to all the hot spots, even Ostia Antiqa (sp) for only 16 Euro for the week! Cant beat that. The walk to the metro was only about 10 mins, and we passed by open air markets, and even found a grocery store where we stocked up on water and chips at.

Overall we had the best time, and I would definately stay at this hotel again and again.

This is a very good find. Very clean hotel. Excellent reception staff and always helpful Although I would recommend NOT eating in the trattoria they recommend. The hotel is slightly out of city centre but that wasn't a problem for us as we are always prepared to walk.The hotel is located on a quiet street, nearest metro is Lepanto ( about 10 mins walk away).
Breakfast was adequate, plenty of it and each morning they replenished the cakes and rolls. Would definitely stay there again.

This quiet little hotel, found on the internet at an astoundingly good-value price, met all of our expectations for a quiet neighbourhood base a little outside of the centre of Rome. Located in the Prati district, tucked away just off the Piazza Mazzini, the hotel is easily found if you check the exact map location online beforehand. We found our room clean and comfortable - not huge, but perfectly adequate for the limited amount of time we were spending in it (and our bathroom was spotless). We particularly liked the high-ceilinged elegance of this converted former private residence. The front desk staff were welcoming, helpful & spoke good English. The breakfast room (no restaurant) was bright & cheerful, and offered a good range of morning rolls, pastries, cereals, fresh & tinned fruits, juices, yoghurt & hard-boiled eggs to set you up for the day. There is also a variety of cafe/bars in the streets within a few minutes walk. In the evenings we dined out in some excellent and welcoming little neighbourhood restaurants, full of locals and not tourists - we particularly liked the great atmosphere and good value Roman menu of Ristorante Candido (about 10 minutes walk to the northwest on Viale Angelico, 275/277) and the more upmarket but pricier fish & Sardinian specialiaties on offer at Portorotondo Ristorante (just round the corner from the hotel at Via Oslavia, 33). The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the nearest metro (Lepanto on line A) and 20-25 minutes walk from the Vatican, or from the northern end of the city centre (Piazza del Popolo). If you are reasonably fit and active and enjoy walking you can reach and explore all the major central sights on foot in the course of a day or two, with the cheap & efficient metro there to whisk you quickly back again in the evening. This was our first visit to Rome and Hotel Delle Vittorie was a perfect solution for our needs. Highly recommended.
