Visited Rome for the 5th time. The hotel was great, perfect location, 1 min to Metro, 2 min to fountain Trevi, and the centre of the city. Very clean, small, the rooms are comfortable, not too small and with a clean nice modern bathroom.The street is not too noisy during the night or in the morning.The hotel staff was extremely helpful with maps, reservations and internet connections to airlines etc. Good breakfast, with polite staff.
We had a beautiful stay and we will again stay at hotel Cinquantatre during our next visit in Rome, which will be soon! love Rome!

Stayed here for four nights at the end of February. This is a small hotel which is in a great location - approx 10 mins walk to Trevi fountain /Spanish steps and 150m from metro. Plenty of restaurants in the general area.
The hotel has a single door frontage and a small lobby area. The room (303) was small but clean with comfortable bed and good modern bathroom. Breakfast served on top floor and is simple but good with a selection of coffees.
Having paid about 70 euro per night per room it is very good value for money.
All great so far - so whats the catch? Our room and our friends room (103) both had a bad smell coming from the bathroom drains. This disappeared overnight but returned by next evening although had almost disappeared by the end of our stay on the Monday. However we didnt come to such a fantastic city such Rome to spend too much time in the room!

We stayed in this hotel on our honeymoon. We stayed on the fifth floor in their largest room. We did not pay for the expensive room, but upon check in where upgraded since their other rooms where full. It was fairly large for European standards. With a hard mattress, two night stands, a desk and a chest. The bath room was clean and had a hair dryer that resembled an old fashion American vacuum. It was a short walk to the metro which was very nice. There are many upscale establishments close, and Hard Rock was around the corner. Their breakfast consisted of cereal and pastries. You must try the crescent rolls, with their version of orange juice. You may enjoy breakfast on the roof top or they will give you a silver tray to take it back to your room. They pick up the tray when they do your daily maid service, which included fresh towels, new sheets, and taking out the trash. You do not need to keep up with your room key, you hand it to the person working the desk before you leave, and pick it up on the way out. It is not an inconvenience, they are quick with your key, and you have to walk by them anyways. They work the front desk 24 hours and most are very friendly and speak English well. On the day before we left I developed a kidney stone and the concierge desk phoned an ambulance and even drove my husband to the hospital behind the ambulance which was more than could have been asked for.

Myself and my boyfriend stayed at L'hotel Cinquantatre for 4 nights at the beginning of November.

We booked a superior room through the Ryanair website and on arrival were told we had been up-graded to the deluxe suite - Room 502. I'm not sure what the difference between the superior room and deluxe suite is, however, we were not dissapointed. The room was much larger than expected, with a big bathroom and a huge balcony which was great for relaxing after a long day of walking around Rome.

Breakfast at the hotel was simple - a roll, croissant, youghurt and drinks - but lovely.

All the staff were very attentive during our stay, and helped us plan the best use of our time.

Perhapse one of the best things about the hotel is its location - in the centre of Rome. You are less than a two-minutes walk from the Barberini metro, which provides you with links to the Colliseum and Vatican City within ten-minutes. However, we found that you could almost walk everywhere you wanted and barely used the metro at all.

Visiting the Vatican City on a Wednesday - when the pope holds his morning audience - is a must. As is a tour of the Sistine Chapel. The Colliseum and Roman Forum is another must.

We would definatly recommend anyone who is visiting Rome to stay in the L'hotel Cinquantatre. The upgrade to the superior room is also worth it!
