Myself and my friend stayed at the hotel Cinquantatre for a five day holiday this last September. Having never been to the etenal city before we were pretty much novices about what location would be best to stay in, but we struck gold with the hotel Cinquantatre. It's location is perfect! It's iterally seconds away from the metro (at the end of the road), a sight seeing bus, lovely cafes and restaurants and the beautiful Piazza Barberini. The trevi fountain is only about a 5-10 minute walk down the main road. We invested in a metro 7 day ticket and it was worth the little we paid for it as it took us all around the main sites of Rome within minutes.
The Hotel itself was really lovely. It was clean, comfortable, nicely furnished and basically just very pleasant to stay in. We were on the front face of the building and we had a mini balcony looking out onto the street. There was air conditioning in the room and it came with a television, a safe and a fridge with drinks and food inside. The bathroom was nice and the shower was good and strong!
The staff were polite and helpful especially one of the ladies who served the breakfasts. Speaking of breakfasts they were tasty. We got a sugared croissant, a couple of bread rolls each, soft cheese, jams, honey, special k type cereal, and a choice of teas, cappacinos, cafe latte and orange juice. It was enough to keep us going all day. The breakfast terrace was gorgeous to sit out on in a morning and it really started your day off on a nice note to eat your breatfast 'al fresco' and take in the lovely view.
My holiday to Rome was one of the best holidays I've ever had. The city itself is just breathtaking and it was only made more wonderful with having a nice place to stay in in a perfect location. I will definately use the Hotel Cinquantatre again next time I visit Rome...which please god will be soon!!!
