We stayed at Villa Patrizi for 4 nights. I had some reservations after reading some of the reviews here but was pleasantly surprised, we arrived several hours earlier than expected and they were able to accommodate us even though the hotel was solidly booked. I can not speak highly enough about the staff at this hotel. This was the tail end of our European Holiday and the staff treated us like family. In particular Ricardo and Nichola were very attentative and made us feel very welcomed. I'm from Australia and can speak Italian. They spoke English well enough to understand. We got a triple room with a decent bathroom. We knew in advance that the breakfast would only be continental, so I don't know why people complain about this fact. The location is in a more quieter section of central Rome Near the English Embassy and is only 2 stops from Termini (Central Rome). Pleanty of shops and restaurants nearby. Would stay here again.

Very pleasant small hotel, spotlessly clean and comfortable.

We had a lovely room with a pleasant balcony, nicely decorated and spotlessly clean although rooms are small. The bathroom was tiny but perfectly functional and the shower was good. There is no bath - shower only, although this did not concern us. Breakfast is a basic continental selection but what more do you require when on holiday? Staff spoke varying degrees of English but those with good english were more than helpful. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and despite reading several poor reviews of this hotel we found our experience much more positive.

We finished our 2 week stay in Italy with 3 nights at Patrizi. First, the good: The hotel is just a couple of blocks from the subway, & even closer to the trolley and the room and hotel was clean and in a quiet part of the city with plenty of parking near the hotel. Now for the bad: The rooms are very small and thanks to other reviewers we knew room 201 was an especially bad one and we refused it when the clerk attempted to give us that room upon check in. Our room, though small was slightly bigger. That said, the bathroom dimensions were 3.5ft by 7.5ft and they have crammed a shower, bidet, toilet and sink into that space. The shower is only about 2ft by 2.5ft making it difficult to get in, turn around or lift your arms without making contact with something. The air conditioning did not work, although the room had french doors leading to a patio and when kept opened would cool the room. That trick may not work during the summer. The TV was altered so the volume couldnt be set higher than halfway although there were many chanels including English (although harder to hear with french doors open).
The hotel is located in the far right hand corner of most central Rome maps away from most attractions. Breakfast was very substandard with undercooked hard boiled eggs as the only hot item. None of this at all consistant with a 4 star hotel. So why did I stay? Because I booked with hotwire (you dont know the hotel name until you buy) which claimed this was a $300+ hotel available for only $189. I requested a partial refund when I showed them the room was available on Venere.com for $147 and they agreed.

Well what can I say about this hotel, if
I can call it one. First of all they said they only had one double room available even though we had booked 2 and had documentation to prove it. It was only when I threatened to ring my travel agent that they suddenly had another room (which turned out to be the dreaded 201), and the previous reviewer is right in what he says. We asked for another room but was told that the hotel was fully booked. We went out for a walk and when we returned we found that the 1st room (G02) had ants in the bathroom. When I complained i was told that the manager would be down to see me but she never arrived and left the concierge who barely spoke english to deal with me. I asked to be movd to another room but again was told that there were no othr rooms available. I then rang my travel agent who moved us to another hotel (SAVOY). When the concierge found out about this suddenly another room was available. At this stage we had enough and moved hotel.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The staff were unfriendly and unwelcoming. It is not in the great location as it claims to be. I have stayed in many hotels in both europe and US and would easily say that this is the worst ever!!!!
How this got a 4 star rating is beyond belief

i have just returned from rome. I stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. I was given the smallest room(room 201) they had available. The bathroom is smaller than my walk in closet at home. the shower handle for hot water was missing. There is barely any light in the room and the remote for the television did not work. I don't have a clue as to why this place has a four star rating. I arrived early (11:00) and i was told that they had nothing available since the check in time is 2:00 p.m. i was told to leave my suitcase in the hallway. the concierge was extremely rude. Please find somewhere else to stay in rome.
