Impressive exterior and sumptuous room, located within a 5 minute walk of Termini station. Reception staff are completely disinterested although housekeeping do a good job. Late May and there is no swimming pool available, there is no hotel guide in the room to outline what facilities are available. Gym is very small - as is breakfast choice - food isn't replenished and coffee is a long wait. For an apparent 5 star rooms lack iron and ironing board (although there is allegedly a pressing service - but not much use if you have a business meeting and need to iron on arrival! There are no facilities to make drinks and no water - there is a mini bar but no prices ...... No pen or notepaper, no bath robe - or any of the other touches one might expect from a 5 star. For corporate choice - meal portions are small, bar is closed early - and forget EVER getting coffee!

I wouldn't have been disappointed if this were a 3 star hotel - but was left VERY disappointed for a 5 star - with most certainly 5 star prices!!

I have just returned from spending 3 nights at the Exedra in Rome, and feel that I have to express my dissapointment.
This visit was to celebrate our twentieth Wedding Anniversary.
I telephoned the Hotel a few days before our visit to arrange a surprise for my Wife.
Hotel Reception put me through to Concierge, as I wanted to arrange Champagne and Flowers for our arrival. They asked me to confirm my request with an email, which I duly did.
You can imagine my disappointment when we walked into the room and there was no Champagne or Flowers, and none arrived on our first days stay.
On the second day I went to discuss the Hotels failings with the Reception, and gave them a copy of my email request for Champagne and Flowers, and as we were leaving the Hotel early for a full days excursion asked them to sort it whilst we were away.
Once again upon returning from our days experience there was no Flowers or Champagne.
I just gave up, and decided that the staff could not understand simple instructions in English.
I did not tell my wife until we had left the hotel, and its probably a good job that I didnt.
In our opinion it is a very overpriced, impersonal, Hotel and not one that we will be revisiting.

We had a truly memorable stay at the Exedra this past March. The hotel lived up to its rating. The friendly efficient staff was outstanding and the hotel had all the "upgrades" expected in an outstanding facility. The hotel is fairly new and it shows. Modern comfortable rooms and sleek baths the ancient Roman's would have died for ( across the street) . The attentive concierge(s) were world class in any language. They arranged private guides, tours and saw to our every need. I'd return in a heartbeat.

I booked this hotel with high hopes for a nice romantic weekend away and I was left very disappointed.

Firstly, the staff were totally uninterested and bordering on rude on check-in. They failed even to mention at all that the pool and roof bar were closed, which was very annoying as this was one of the main reasons I booked it. Eventually they gave the excuse that it was down to the weather but this is total rubbish as the building works had been going on for a while.

Secondly, the room itself was well below average for a hotel of this price. It was small and contrary to their website had no view at all. Again, when I queried this they informed me that the hotel was full and it was tough luck. This was totally untrue as was made pretty obvious by just walking around it.

Also, twice I ordered room service, once it took over an hour to arrive and the other never arrived at all with no explanation!

I did complain about my stay and to be fair the travel agent did give me a partial refund but the hotel itself refused to apologise and offered me a discount on a future stay - something I won't be taking up!

On the plus side, the entrance to the hotel is nice and the location is ok - but is just a bit too far to walk to most attractions.

Overall, even if you get a good deal on the net, I would avoid this hotel. There are far better than this in Rome for the money.
