The location cannot be beat. Next to the Spanish Steps and next to the Metro entrance. The inside is beautiful and clean. The rooms are large and accomodating. Cleaning staff everyday were excellent. All the staff, Alex, Daniel, Elizabetta, etc., were very accomodating for restaurant reservations, suggestions, directions, taxis to airport, etc.
The staff is available until 10:00 pm and I found that not to be a problem. Of all the locations I have stayed in Rome, this is the best.. We stayed in a room for four (two teenage daughters), with no problems. Our room literally overlooked the Spanish Steps. The double pane windows blocked the noice but we actually left the windows opnen to hear the activity of the Steps.

It is impossible to improve upon the position of the Internazionale Domus - this hotel is what staying in Rome is all about. At the heart of the Centro Historico with the beauty of Rome literally on the doorstep. The building itself is beautiful and exudes elegance and grace. It's possible to think of oneself as a 19th. century traveller doing the Grand Tour - only with the addition of a superb bathroom and great access to computer and inernet! The rooms are very spacious which is hard to find in this city, at a very reasonable price given the superb quality of the fittings, the attention to detail and the atmosphere. And they are so peaceful in spite of their postion . All staff are gracious and thoughtful and outstandingly courteous - I would never want to stay anywhere else in Rome as I know it would be impossible to improve upon the quality and ambience of the Internazionale Domus. My one tip would be NOT to take a taxi from the Termini Station - it is SO close and SO easy to reach the hotel on the Metro and cost a couple of euros for two of us - compared with the 30 euros charged by the taxi on arrival!

We stayed here twice in June-for one night before leaving on a cruise and four nights upon our return. Both of our rooms were exceptional but the Donatello overlooking the steps shouldn't be missed. All of the staff, but especially Alex, were great. Excellent restaurant suggestions, nightlife tips, and arrangements for taxis and guides. I've never written a review before but they deserved this one. We wont stay anywhere else on our next trip to Rome.

My wife and I stayed here in early November. We were initially booked in the Relais Pierret, the Domus' sister hotel one floor down. Upon our arrival we were shown a slightly larger room in the Internazionale Domus (the Donattelo) with a window that opened up onto the Spanish Steps at the same price! This is not an entirely traditional hotel - a small front desk is open until 9:00 PM each day - but while there I can't say enough about how helpful the hotel staff were. Our room was large with high ceilings - the building itself dates back to the 17th century, but all the hotel facilities are modern. The room furnishings were modest but in good condition and the bathrooms were very clean, large and modern. The location is amazing - front door opens onto the Piazza de Spagna with a Metro station just up the street on the side of the hotel opposite the Spanish Steps. Pretty much everything but the Vatican is walkable from the hotel, which is a 2 stop metro ride. I would recommend the hotel without hesitation.
