We have just returned from the Orlanda hotel in Rome with close relation to the railway station, which is advantageous when leaving early in the morning. The rooms were clean and well-equipped but the lighting a bit dull. We had to move in the middle of our stay (4 days) as the room had been booked at the same time by other guests (so we were told!). The new room was a small double bedroom, the manager told us, but in fact a single room with an extra bed with a very small passage between the beds. Much traffic noise, especialy in the first room (nr. 505). We got an allowance. We would choose another hotel when going to Rome next time.

Just back from Rome! My friend and I spent 4 nights at the Orlanda Hotel near the train station area....We were totally pleased with the Hotel!First of all, the area did not bother us..its near the train station. All train station areas look the same and can be a bit dreary..but we felt safe and never had any problem or fears...so many people around ...full of life..places to eat etc.The train station has a small mall of shops in its downstairs area plus a 24 hour supermarket which was great for picking up foods or drinks.

The Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean..spacious..and well decorated. We were surprised at how nice it was! A sat tv...telephone...safe...bathroom was perfect with new fixtures..hairdryer..I think the room was excellent for the price!Brealfast was included which was in a very quaint breakfast room area..fresh rolls,croissants(delicious)..butter,jam.cheese,coffee...espresso..corn flakes and milk..etc.Plus all you can eat!We loved our breakfast!

We found this Hotel to be in a great location..near transport and other sights in walking distance...A shuttle bus service is available upon booking for 14 euros a person..this was great!

Next time in Rome..thats where we will stay! Great price! 70 Euros for a double...breakfast and all included.

I stayed at this hotel while I was in Rome to research a study abroad trip for a group of college students. While it is not close to the historic areas, it is very close to public transportation. Rome is such a large area to cover that the location near the train station makes it an ideal base.
The rooms and services are nice and very similar to American hotels. The staff was very helpful to make my stay enjoyable. When I asked for a recommendation of a good restaurant, the desk clerk gave me detailed directions to a restaurant in Trastevere, including the route for a lovely walk back through this beautiful part of the city.

This hotel is very clean and good value for the price, however does have a few negative points.

It is not so close to the historical centre. Probably around 30-40 mins walking or 2-3 stops on the metro. On the other hand, it is good however as it is just around the corner from Termini (main rail station) where you can pick up trains/buses/taxis/metro etc.

We stayed in room 304, which i think was a bad example as it overlooked a main road and was noisey with cars beeping all through the night. Other rooms seemed to be further away from the main road, so i assume less noisey.

Breakfast was average at best, and a time had to be booked in advance the night before. We were turned away once as the tiny breakfast room was already full.

Overall, the hotel was not bad and the staff friendly. I suppose it was as good as you can expect from a 2* hotel for the price.

I booked all the hotels for a trip to Italy with my boyfriend. This hotel was very clean and spacious at a good price. We arrived around 10am in the morning from the airport, they greeted us and offered us coffee while we waited about 15 minutes for our room to be ready. I was very happy that we were able to check in to our room early. The staff was very nice and helpful. Also, we enjoyed the breakfast with a coffee machine you can choose a variety of coffees and croissants, toast, cereal, etc. My boyfriend really enjoyed the hotel.

The only downside is that we stayed on the 5th floor which was a hike with our suitcases. If you climb the dome at St. Peter's the last thing you want to see when you get to your hotel is more stairs. LOL. I requested room 506 based on a recommendation from a book, which I can no longer remember the title.

The train station is nearby, which is great if you take the train from the airport. Also, both metro lines connect at the train station so this hotel is very accessible to anywhere in the city.
