I stayed at this hotel while I was in Rome to research a study abroad trip for a group of college students. While it is not close to the historic areas, it is very close to public transportation. Rome is such a large area to cover that the location near the train station makes it an ideal base.
The rooms and services are nice and very similar to American hotels. The staff was very helpful to make my stay enjoyable. When I asked for a recommendation of a good restaurant, the desk clerk gave me detailed directions to a restaurant in Trastevere, including the route for a lovely walk back through this beautiful part of the city.

This hotel is very clean and good value for the price, however does have a few negative points.

It is not so close to the historical centre. Probably around 30-40 mins walking or 2-3 stops on the metro. On the other hand, it is good however as it is just around the corner from Termini (main rail station) where you can pick up trains/buses/taxis/metro etc.

We stayed in room 304, which i think was a bad example as it overlooked a main road and was noisey with cars beeping all through the night. Other rooms seemed to be further away from the main road, so i assume less noisey.

Breakfast was average at best, and a time had to be booked in advance the night before. We were turned away once as the tiny breakfast room was already full.

Overall, the hotel was not bad and the staff friendly. I suppose it was as good as you can expect from a 2* hotel for the price.

I booked all the hotels for a trip to Italy with my boyfriend. This hotel was very clean and spacious at a good price. We arrived around 10am in the morning from the airport, they greeted us and offered us coffee while we waited about 15 minutes for our room to be ready. I was very happy that we were able to check in to our room early. The staff was very nice and helpful. Also, we enjoyed the breakfast with a coffee machine you can choose a variety of coffees and croissants, toast, cereal, etc. My boyfriend really enjoyed the hotel.

The only downside is that we stayed on the 5th floor which was a hike with our suitcases. If you climb the dome at St. Peter's the last thing you want to see when you get to your hotel is more stairs. LOL. I requested room 506 based on a recommendation from a book, which I can no longer remember the title.

The train station is nearby, which is great if you take the train from the airport. Also, both metro lines connect at the train station so this hotel is very accessible to anywhere in the city.

The price for a room is very good by Rome standards and you get a very clean hotel with all the facilities a tourist needs. Location is fantastic, just about all the sights are within walking distance and all tourist buses arrive and depart from the Termini - about 5 minutes walk away. The friendly staff all speak good English and are pleased to advise how to plan your trips around their beautiful city. To really enjoy your stay try and get a courtyard facing room because like all Rome's hotels the traffic noise is ever present. If going in summer the extra €5 for aircon is worth the money if you cannot sleep with the noise from the open window.

There is no restaurant but one excellent place to eat is Il Secchio Turn Right about 100 metres on first corner, it deserves all the praise it gets.

I won't give it excellent because the breakfast could be a bit better (I am used to coffee and maybe toast, but this breakfast was even more inferior). However, when you weigh the fact that the hotel is half if not more than the price of other hotels in Rome and the rooms are double the size with AC, TV (in Italian, but you're in Italy, after all) very very clean and close to Termini, then you quickly forget the breakfast issue. It seems the hotel is actually is on a couple of different floors, but the reception is always staffed and they are very nice. The lift is a bit old (word of advice, you should never take an lift in Italy in the first place) and the area a bit shall we say lively but never threatening...at least there's always a spot to eat or drink at any time of the day. What do you expect a few hundred metres from the main railway station? I would highly recommend this hotel for its value friendliness and overall comfort.
