“lovely place to stay - very reasonable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Just stayed here for a 3 night weekend break - it was less than half the price of most other accommodation around - worried there may have been a drawback but no! Friendly staff - spotlessly clean (eclectic decor and marble everywhere!)- excellent breakfast included - room comfortable decent size - Free decent WiFi - balcony - set back from road so relatively quiet. Position is good if you don't mind a bit of walking - 10 minute walk to Lepanto metro stop (closer to get Tram and buses) 25 min stroll to Vatican - 10 mins walk to loads of nice shops and restaurants. Don't forget in Rome there is a 6 Euro per person per day Tax to be added onto your bill (wherever you stay!)
Would happily stay here again. Highly recommended.

Hotel is easy to spot, simple modern Italian style. You can probably find a really good cheap deal online.

Staff is extremely nice, patient and willing to deal with so many reservations complications.

Rooms are clean and fully equipped with plugs, towls and toiletry materials.

WiFi is free, you have to request it from the reception a code per person per device.

Breakfast is good ,had better, but still has a large variety of bread/bruschetta/quiche and pastries.

Location is not so great on the other hand, your options are to walk for a really long time or get a metro bus ticket and walk 5-7 minutes to any bus/train stop or a taxi.

Clean and comfortable hotel with friendly staff. It is a bit far from some of the tourist sites, but good location if you don't mind a bit of walking. Not many places to eat nearby and food in hotel restaurant was pretty average.

I was a little worried if the location would be a problem, but I was proven wrong. It was very Nice but the girls at the reception could have been more helpful. The waiters at the restaurant ón the other hans were a delight. I Can indeed recommend this hotel

This hotel is quite good looking outside and inside, very nice outdoor yard and nice outside architecture.
Staff is generally friendly and helpful .
Rooms are small but comfort and clean . Bathroom is clean and well equipped. Breakfast is relatively (to other Europe hotels) rich and good looking. Location is relatively quite. It's location on the river bank is an significant added value . Vicinity to city attractions : close enough for average walkers.
To summarize : Quite expensive but recommended , especially for business trip.

Traveling with a tour group, we stayed at the Donna Laura. Our accommodations were arranged through Celtic Tours. The facility is nice. The balcony view of the front is nice, and the rooms are clean. Do not expect 'warm hospitality' as staff tends to be self conscious about speaking English. I noticed that staff seemed more comfortable and conversant with other languages of Europe. Near the end of our 3 night stay, the staff did warm up to us......maybe for the departing tip.

The hotel is a good location for visiting Vatican City and walking along some major avenues. Depending on your stamina, you may need a taxi to visit the Spanish Steps or the Trevi Fountain. The Hotel is across the road from the Tiber River and you may like to walk the upper path of the river. Traffic in the area is constant from business and tourism, and worse during 'rush hour.'

BTW- many hotels in Italy are called 'palaces'. By story book definition, they are not.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the front courtyard entrance.

The hotel is elegantly simple, very clean and with friendly staff. It is not the "wow" hotel because the lobby is definitely minimalistic and the architecture of the front side reminds one more of a holiday apartment house on the Rimini riviera rather than a fairly expensive hotel in the Italian capital. However, it is indeed elegant, with some lovely details and in a great location only fifteen minutes walking distance from Piazza del Popolo, via del Babbuino, villa Borghese, Castel Sant'Angelo and the Vatican. Even Trastevere is pretty close by. The staff in the lobby is helpful and friendly and nobody runs after you to "help you with the luggage" at all costs like in too many other places.
The room was rather on the smaller side, but it was nice and clean, same for the bathroom.
No bath robe though and this should be perhaps something to be considered.
I would suggest this hotel both to families and businessmen. Breakfast has a good offer and on demand they also do espresso and cappuccino (standard coffee is served at the buffet).

Room Tip: Some rooms have a balcony
