My wife and I stayed three nights in Hotel Suisse. It was a very charming hotel with friendly and helpful staff. As others have said, the rooms were characterful and spacious and very quiet. The communal areas were also lovely, with quiet areas to sit and read etc.

It was in a great location round the corner from the Spanish Steps and within easy walking distance of all the things you want to see in Rome.

The only slight criticism is that, although they perfectly clean, the bathroom was a bit old fashioned/basic for our taste.

That said I have no hesitation in recommending - we had a lovely time there.

This is an excellent boutique hotel. The service was fantastic and friendly. The hotel was simple, and the room was small, but not uncomfortably so. The location and price could not be beat. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

We recently stayed at the Hotel Suisse and loved it! We only had two days in Rome and wanted a central location. After searching numerous websites and travel journals, we decided on this hotel and are so glad we did.

The Hotel Suisse is located on a quiet street near the top of the Spanish Steps. I don't know what our "neighbors' up the street at the Hassler paid but our room was enormous and reasonably priced for the area. We were traveling with our 4 year old daughter and had plenty of room for the three of us, plus luggage.

The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The in-room breakfast was delivered within 10 minutes. Choices included assorted breads and croissants. Ask for hot ham and make a sandwich. Wine is available for purchase in the evening.

The hotel was clean and comfortable, and felt very secure. Would absolutely stay here again!

This is a great little hotel in an awesome location. We were right at the top of the Spanish Steps, <10 minute walk from the Trevi Fountain, and a perfect walking distance to most other attractions.

The rooms are clean and comfortable. I was in the single room, which actually gave me a nicely-sized double bed, but a super small shower. They bring a nice little breakfast to your room. Had to pay $10 extra per day for A/C, but it was worth it as you're up 4-5 stories and Rome is crazy hot during the summer.

The staff was very friendly, spoke great English, and was extremely helpful in picking restaurants and giving directions. I would highly recommend this hotel for those who aren't looking for the large, full-service type places and are more into the local flavor

We stayed here for 3 days at the last leg of our 2 week Italian holiday. The room we stayed in was bigger than the average Italian hotel rooms. We were staying in less spacious rooms so the space was a treat. The room was clean and the bed was firm.

As we were there in April, the weather was cool and we did not need an air-con. We decided to leave the window ajar on our first night but we had to shut it as our room faced the street and there were merry makers at a pub below.

During our stay we were unfortunate that the elevator was out of service and we had to climb 3 stories to get to the hotel. It was only a challenge with our luggage but there was a nice porter who assisted us.

The hotel's location is ideal being a 8 minute walk to the Spanish Steps and that's very close to the designer shops too.

We would recommend this hotel and we would return for a stay.

  • Disliked — The elevator that was out of order
