We stayed here for 3 days at the last leg of our 2 week Italian holiday. The room we stayed in was bigger than the average Italian hotel rooms. We were staying in less spacious rooms so the space was a treat. The room was clean and the bed was firm.

As we were there in April, the weather was cool and we did not need an air-con. We decided to leave the window ajar on our first night but we had to shut it as our room faced the street and there were merry makers at a pub below.

During our stay we were unfortunate that the elevator was out of service and we had to climb 3 stories to get to the hotel. It was only a challenge with our luggage but there was a nice porter who assisted us.

The hotel's location is ideal being a 8 minute walk to the Spanish Steps and that's very close to the designer shops too.

We would recommend this hotel and we would return for a stay.

Hotel Suisse is about 200 metres from the top of the Spanish steps. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The room we had overlooked a private courtyard and was very clean and comfortable. You need to pay extra for air con if its required.
It was a pleasent quiet haven away from the busy streets of Rome.

We were lucky enough to learn about the Hotel Suisse from friends in our hometown and it was such a treat. We loved staying there! The location could not be better and the family room was huge. Our friends stayed at the Hassler during the smae time up the block and our room was 3 times the size. I loved the security the place had as well with only a few guests at a time and our kids loved Rome. The hotel is a little tricky as it is on the second floor of a mixed use building after several design shops. This hotel was the best value of all of the hotels we stayed in on our 3 week trip. I would not go back to Rome and not stay at the Suisse!

Maybe by Rome standards hotel offers superb accomodations, but in reality it is Motel 6 at 165 euros per night.
The best feature is, of course, location, as well as top notch security. Other than that everything is at the minimally acceptable level.
The breakfast is a joke - lots of bread and not much else, with coffee delivered lukewarm. The whole breakfast-in-the-room idea is silly, because there is not enough space to even sit comfortably.
Our room (#38) was just big enough for 2 people, but not if you come with your luggage, as most people do.
The shower was tiny. If you are more than 200 lb., stay away from this room - you won't fit in the shower.
Among the staff Julie was kind and helpful, but the owner herself was rude and aggressive. Her main point in our 5 minute conversation was that she didn't really need us as customers, because she had plenty of permanent ones, and, if we don't like the shower, we "can go to a public bath."
I imagine a Motel 6 employee would be fired for such a comment.
