We have stayed at the Hotel Del Corso about four or five times now, but we will never stay there again. First of all, yes, the location is excellent and so is the staff. However, they know they have this excellent location, but management has let the hotel get completely rundown. Upon entering, the small lobby and immediate area are fine, as is the small internet space, but once you reach your room, you are very disappointed, at least we were. We stayed for two nights and then returned in two weeks for three more nights. Neither room was better than the other! We could hear street noise from Via Del Corso, and also almost every word our neighbors spoke. One neighbor had a fight and we ended up having to bang on the wall. The bathroom was a disgrace. The shower curtain was old and moldy and needed to be replaced years ago. I almost cut off the bottom of it to send them a "hint". Water got all over the floor and one of the tabs on the sink was broken. The towels are worn and the carpeting in the bedroom was disgustingly stained and looked as though it hadn't be cleaned in ages. A/C didn't work all that well, and since it was August, and extremely hot, we really needed it. We asked for a nicer room when we returned, but it really wasn't much better. The continental breakfast is served on the rooftop during the summer, and it was a joke. The staff could have cared less about us, the quality of the food deplorable and we ended up not even bothering to go up after the second day. Management needs to do something about the quality of this hotel. It is barely a one star now in our estimation. It used to be perfect, and even though it has a great location, there are so many other hotels in the immediate area, for possibly a little bit more money, that would be much nicer.
