Four of us signed up for a european destinations tour and we regrettably did not map this hotel out. It is very misleading that this hotel is "in Rome" We actually have photos that we took from the taxi saying that we were no longer in Rome and had signs heading towards Florence, I'm not kidding. It was actually the MOST expensive part of our trip because taking the taxi costs around 40 bucks US to get to the tourist sites, ie (roman forum, colosseum). The hotel said it would cost 15 euros, but that only takes you to the upper most part of Rome where you would then have to take the subway. Their shuttle is not frequent at all and maybe if they ran it hourly, it would be okay, but in the morning, you have a three hour gap between shuttle runs. It's also misleading because one shuttle run will take you to the tip of the city and the other shuttle one will take you to a train station that is half an hour away form the city so it goes: 1)shuttle from hotel to random station where you have to wait 10-20 minutes 2)train station to city subway 3)subway to city destination it took us about an hour, which basically wastes your whole morning. we were pretty bitter especially since our other two hotels on the trip (gorizia in venice and excutive in florence were centrally located....though executive was by far the nicest of the 3. gorizia was a bit dated). i've lived in SF, philly, and london and this was by far one of the bigger pains in the butt in terms of navigation, especially bc most people did not tell us much. this hotel is more for italians who are having a conference in rome and have their own shuttle bus, its not good at all for tourists. btw, this hotel has nothing around it except small houses and a grocery that is even less posh than an ALDI. you really are out in the sticks.
