This place is quite simply disappointing. We first saw it when we were staying in Sicily in a book about design hotels in Italy. No idea why it was included.

The 'palazzo' building where the B&B is located is a scruffy, residential block on a small back street. Our room, described as a suite, on the first floor was clean and basic. When we arrived we found a sandwich left in the fridge in the living room. The shower room was tiny. Toiletries were never replaced when they had been used up. The living room and bedroom had hardly any natural light. There was a plastic, mock leather sofa in the living room and the colour scheme was depressingly beige. Our breakfast took an hour to arrive on the morning we left.

This was certainly not the top notch, elegant, urban B&B with impeccable service described by the website. Neither was it affordable.

We stayed for three days, at 280 euros a night . While in Rome we also stayed at the St George, a spa hotel booked via expedia which was luxurious, contemporary, spotlessly clean, with a spa and cocktail terrace and it cost less money per night.

Since we returned from our holiday, we have been emailing Daphne to see if they would offer a partial refund, but the email has been bouncing - we wonder why!

If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Rome, don't wast your euros at Daphne. Its not worth it and you will be disappointed.

We stayed here for 4 nights, and couldn't have been more pleased that we choose the Daphne Trevi. From the moment we arrived the staff did all they could to make sure we had all we needed and took the time to go through the map of Rome with us so we had an idea of were things were.

The rooms are beautifully decorated, very comfy bed, big roomy bathroom and pleanty of space. There was some construction going on in the street the Daphne is on but we didn't hear a thing as the sound proofing is exceptional.

The Reconnaissance walk that the hotel offers is well worth it if it's your first trip to Rome. Big thanks to Rina, her walking tour of the city was a highlight of our trip to Rome. Her knowledge of the city and its history and art was exceptional and gave us a real insite into the city and we saw things we would never have known were there if she hadn't taken us there - like the weird creepy church (full of skulls and cross bones, and scary angels)

We couldn't recommend this more highly, the staff are truly exceptional and take pride in their jobs.

My husband spent 4 nights in Rome recently. We stayed at the Daphne Inn Trevi, which I chose largely based on the wonderful reviews I read on Tripadvisor. We were not disappointed. The location was perfect. We walked or took the bus or metro without any difficulty. The Inn met and exceeded our expectations. The staff is so helpful and kind. We enjoyed a very informative and fun orientation walk through Rome with Ryan, which was one of the highlights of our stay in Rome. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good, including fresh fruit, rolls, cereal, etc., even cappuccino to order. Don't let the steps scare you, they were not bad at all. I would not hesitate to recommend the Daphne Inn to fellow travelers and would go back in a heartbeat.

My husband, 22 month old son and I stayed there for 4 nights in JUly 2008 and loved it.

The room is clean, modern, and lovely. The bathroom and shower are great... spacious compared to other places. Individually controlled air conditioning that was great. Quiet. Fridge in the room. Computer with internet access easily accesible.

Good breakfast. Fresh fruit, cheese, meat, rolls, yogurt and made to order coffee drink. The housekeeper was really nice.

The office staff were helpful and very friendly. They had great insider tips and helped us find the most attractive ways to get to places.

Metro stop almost right outside which was easy and fast for getting to the Vatican City. Most other sites within a reasonable walking distance with much of it on Pedestrian streets.

We were on the 3rd floor--which means 4th floor in the states. The stairs were a bit of pain but we did it with a toddler and a stroller with no problem.

Great location. Clean. Good food. Great service. No hesitation recommending this place. Well worth the money.
