The hotel is well located for walking to the major sights, the closest being the Spanish Steps. Also plenty of cafes nearby. And it was such a joy to come back to the luxurious spa after a long day of walking. The staff at the hotel were lovely - very warm and helpful without being intrusive. Will definitely stay again.

The Hotel Aleph was a bit of a dissapointment for us, you are probaby better off going to price line and putting in a price for a 4 star hotel than staying at the Aleph. Below is my honest assesment. It is closer to a 3 star hotel vs 4 star.

Lobby
Lobby is cool and they have a happy hour from 4-7 pm, drinks are roughly $12 Euros at happy hour (check your bill though because sometimes they don't put the happy hour prices on).

Food
We didn't eat at the hotel, breakfast buffet was $30 Euros and if you want room service - forget it, the delivery charge is $20 Euros - that is crazy!

Extras
Internet in the room is $29 Euros a day
Movies in the room at $20 Euros

Service
For the most part people are friencly, however, there was one guy on the night shift behind the desk and he was the rudest person I have met in all of my travels. We asked for recommendations for places (there is no conceirage) and it was a bit of a struggle to get him to write it down. OUr television in our room was broken, we asked him to send someone to service it, when we got back and asked if they managed to fix the television he just said 'no' - at a certain point it became comical. we asked for information about the spa at the hotel (there was no brochure) and he was very unhelpful... anyway, the service really was not great.

Rooms
The rooms are average, the queen/king beds are 2 twins pushed together. The bathrooms are nice and modern.

Gym/Spa
The gym is very limited and its by the spa desk/change room. The gym has maybe 4-5 machines, one bench and a few free weights.

My husband picked this as a surprise honeymoon in Rome and he was not wrong! Its a fab, funky, upmarket hotel, with ace red and black decor! a Heaven and Hell theme with the main hotel being Hell and the Spa of course ..Heaven! We didnt think much of the bedrooms though considering the price and the rest of the hotel frankly the rooms are a let down and the bathroom in a very bad position in the room quite embarrassing actually as there is only a sliding door between your partner and the loo, sing loudly or run the shower ! The restaurant was superbly decorated and the menu good although again a high price but you get what you pay for here. Great location easy to find, a fairly pricey but good base for sightseeing this BEAUTIFUL city, We lova Roma!!!!

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel - it was clean, comfortable, modern, and convenient. However, I don't think it's worth staying here for the full price.

The deal we got was E170/night for an upgraded room (to Deluxe) with breakfast included; normal price on the website was double that (around E400 ) for the Deluxe room.

The Hotel -

The hotel was clean, updated, modern, with a touch of edgy decorating scheme. The staff was friendly and helpful - when we decided to extend our stay there, the staff even helped us get an extension to our deal. They also sent a bottle of champagne our first night (I think it was because we mentioned that it was our anniversary). Breakfast was OK - they had the same items everyday but there were a fair amount of warm and cold selections. It's nice that hot drinks were included in the breakfast, they had very good coffee. The spa facilities was ok, we only used the spa once. The whirlpool was not kept as well as it could have and the water was just luke warm but they do have some work out equipments.

The Room -

We got upgraded to a Deluxe room as part of our deal -t we had more than enough space, especially for a European hotel. The bed was large and comfortable. The room was also clean, updated, and had modern decors. The bathroom was clean and updated (part of the mirror by the sink was even heated so that it does not fog up after shower). The bathtub was skinnier than normal but not a big deal. The TV channel selection was also limited, but again not a big deal.

Location -

The hotel was tucked away in a smaller street in the Via Veneto area but it was very convenient. There are a few buses that stop in front of the hotel that went to the major sights. The Barberini piazza is at the end of the block where many more bus lines stop and there is a metro stop as well. If you plan on taking public transportation, this hotel seems to be a lot more convenient than some of the hotels further up Via Veneto.

There are a few restaurants around though the ones up Via Veneto are very overpriced.

Our experience at this hotel certainly made our stay in Rome even more fun and memorable.

We stayed here on a weekend break for the Wales Italy game. Lovely hotel - nice rooms, with a comfy largte bed - also quiet, could not hear the usual hustle and bustle which wakes me up in a hotel. Staff were very helpful , although I felt sorry for the solitary barman - who also had to sort out the room service (which could leave y ou waiting for a drink for a while !) Would avoid room service - a charge of 20 euro applies on top of the menu price ! Did not have breakfast included (so could not comment) - but Cafe Roma just around corner - where you can enjoy breakfast in the italian sunshine. It was a convenient location, for buses and metro. A short walk from spanish steps , and to the dolce vita area.Due to extra-curricular activites, could not comment on spa (we just did not have time).

Can't wait to return again. Bella Roma.

Oh yes - the private driver - Mauro, used by the hotel was lovely !! Competitive rate for airport tranfer.

(Paid £380 for flight from Heahrow and 3 night stay, no breakfast, expedia)
