We went to Rome for business, stayed in this fantastic hotel. I would highly recommend anyone to check this hotel out. It's superbly chic, clean, class and members of their staff just can't seem to do enough for us.
The bedroom was brilliant and the bathroom was extremely modern. The square glass sink was most attractive.

If you're staying in this hotel, you must grab the chance to dine in the restaurant. Not only is the food outstanding good, the service was impeccable.

This hotel is top-class!

In september 2005, we had a film crew traveling throughout Europe for months. Due to the busy season we had to stay at the Aleph Hotel in Rome, since our first choice hotel was booked. I know that film crews can be obnoxious at times, but I swear we were well behaved and quiet.

Mind you we paid $50,000+ in hotel rooms and incidental for less than a week to stay at the Aleph with a whole film crew. Some of the rooms are VERY small even though they are classified as “deluxe”. The Suite are a bit comparable to a true Deluxe room at a Four Seasons or Ritz. However, the service is the worst I have ever encounter. Normally, we compensate the staff quite well due to the impact we have on a hotel. However, the Aleph was disgustingly rude. While we were there, the plumbing broke and there was the smell of fecal matter throughout the hotel. When new guests would arrive a strange look would overcome them and you could overhear their attempt to figure out the origin of this stench. This problem lasted the ENTIRE week we were there. The power went out in one of our production coordinators rooms and the hotel didn’t offer to help him move all of his kits and luggage in the dark. The staff was completely unapologetic to the smell and over ½ of the crew was bitten by mosquitoes (which is disgusting amidst a sewage problem). Meanwhile, the director had her 2 year son in a room that was completely ruined with sewage smell. We received absolutely now compensation, not even a verbal apology. The staff literally snuffed their noses at us and ignored anyone who complained (even non-film crew guests). The wireless internet would not work in the conference room which was literally right next to the lobby (where it worked), unless we paid an outrageous fee of $20 hour. Please.

Also, the rooftop restaurant would have been nice, except they decided to close early sporadically throughout the week. The only other option was room service, such as a club sandwich (no sides, no fries, nada) for $40 US. Ridiculous.

I would NEVER stay here again. It’s one thing when a hotel has some issues out of their control, but when they have no remorse, compensation or even a “sorry”, it is completely unacceptable. They turned their noses up at us and even laughed. I hope they go out of business. Do yourself a favor and stay at a hostel over this pile of junk!!!!

The Aleph's location is great. Its a 5 min walk to the Spanish Steps and about 10 to Via Corso. Actually, everything in central Rome is within a 20 min walk anyway. The hotel is boutique style with a modern luxurious feel. The decor is fantastic. I got a corner room (#510)and found the size comperable to any hotel in a European city. The lounge is very nice and relaxing. Reception staff (especially Nicoletta) are very helpful and are always ready to step in when the concierge is not available for info and reservations. The rooftop terrace was closed our etire trip-a disappointment. However ran into a nasty patch when they asked us to leave a day early due to overbooking. Also , roomservice is ALWAYS forgetful...need I say more? Overall a very nice stay in a very nice hotel.....

I selected this hotel because I prefer trendy hotels with style rather than bland with space. I note from reading other reviews, that there is a tendency to judge on quantity as opposed to quality.
I visited this hotel with a girlfriend and booked a twin room, however, on arrival there were none left so we were given a double each. Fantastic - especially as we only paid cGBP60/night between us. The terrace bar is v. expensive - however it is also v. exclusive and on a hotel August evening was amazing.

The only complaint I had was that we were there during the mid-summer bank holiday - an exodus from Rome by locals - so the there was a skeleton staff and the pool was closed. Oh yes, and we booked a cab through the hotel to Rome Cimpiano and the cabbie took us to Da Vinci. I ended up having a frightening row with the driver (whose cab had already broken down during the journey). I don't know whose fault it was, but when I called the hotel during the journey for assistance they weren't terribly interested - probably because we had already left and we were to meet the cost of the taxi.......I ended up in the police station at the airport following an assault on me by the driver.
