We stayed here on a weekend break for the Wales Italy game. Lovely hotel - nice rooms, with a comfy largte bed - also quiet, could not hear the usual hustle and bustle which wakes me up in a hotel. Staff were very helpful , although I felt sorry for the solitary barman - who also had to sort out the room service (which could leave y ou waiting for a drink for a while !) Would avoid room service - a charge of 20 euro applies on top of the menu price ! Did not have breakfast included (so could not comment) - but Cafe Roma just around corner - where you can enjoy breakfast in the italian sunshine. It was a convenient location, for buses and metro. A short walk from spanish steps , and to the dolce vita area.Due to extra-curricular activites, could not comment on spa (we just did not have time).

Can't wait to return again. Bella Roma.

Oh yes - the private driver - Mauro, used by the hotel was lovely !! Competitive rate for airport tranfer.

(Paid £380 for flight from Heahrow and 3 night stay, no breakfast, expedia)

We stayed in Aleph hotel on December 2008 and we had a wonderful time. We were two adults with one 5 year old boy and we booked a deluxe room, which was very spacious for 3 people.
I love the design of this hotel, which is very modern and striking all in black and red. I was a little bit worried as I had read some bad comments about this hotel, but on the contrary our stay at Aleph was wonderful: the room was beautiful and clean, the service faultless and the location is also great as as you can reach all the main attraction with a few minute walk.
Also the breakfast was good and with a wide choice of proposals - the room where breakfast is served is also gorgeous!
I would certainly recommend this hotel for your stay in Rome.

At first, it's hard to find by foot when you're in a foreign country! It's located on a small unpopular street. But once you arrive...

It's gorgeous! The doorman was always more than courteous. Very friendly and had great advice to offer when prompted. He was always very helpful! The concierge and front-desk staff were okay, a bit snooty, but still somewhat courteous.

Although the room itself was relatively small (for $300 a night!) it was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The bathroom was even gorgeous! Rain-shower head, scented lotions and bodywash in full-size tubes (not the minis you get at regular hotels!), glass sink...very sleek and modern. The enitre hotel, lobby, rooms, hallways, was all contemporary/modern in its design. The pool/hot tub were gorgeous - unfortunately, we never had the time to go! We were always out and about!

The location of the hotel is excellent if you plan to go sight-seeing through Rome. There's a subway station at the end of the street, and that streets leads in to one of the many "piazzas" throughout the city. Termini station is a 15-minute walk away! (yes, we actually walked the cobblestone with our wheeled suitcases! Crazy but it likely saved us at least 10 Euros or about $20!) Although the subway station is close, you'll find you can walk to just about anywhere (except the Vatican) within 20 minutes. And you'll see so much more than you would if you took the "metro" (i.e. subway).

I strongly recommend this hotel if you're on a honeymoon or if you can really afford to spend $300 per night! If not, stay somewhere cheaper or in a hostel!

Lovely hotel, perfect location, a 5 minute walk to the Trevi Fountain which is great.

Absolutely stunning reception area, very classy.

The only down falls were:

We went in the middle of August and were looking forward to chilling with a couple of cocktails on the roof terrace bar but when we got there we were told the roof terrace was closed.

The spa was also closed for the majority of time we were there.

The bar seemed to have run out of everything we tried to order (I tried to order at least 3 cocktails but they did not have the ingredients to make them!).

But to be quite honest this didn't really bother us much, after all, why would we want to go to the most beautiful city in the world just to sit in our hotel!?

Cannot fault the staff, they were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you, they even gave us a free upgrade upon arrival.

All in all, a great place to stay to get the most out of your visit to Rome, I would definately recommend it.

This 5* hotel promises much, from the funky decor to the underground spa on the surface the 5* seem well deserved.

But dig a little deeper and one starts to wonder if those 5*s are just ticks in boxes!

The entrace, bar and dining areas have clearly been heavily invested in! Trendy red colour scheme, art and "hell" as the theme give the hotel a quirky edge. The room? Modern, well done, but not really in keeping with the entrance. The carpet was a little worn, out dated padded wall paper, and a little more attention to detail in the maintenance just make you think that it lacks some love from the staff.

The spa was odd. The wall were so heavily limescaled that it felt like sand paper, and there was a huge number of tiles damaged or missing, though still worth visiting (we went every night!)

Don't get me wrong, 4*s would be well deserved, very plesant ,but for the price one could expect to pay (over £300 a night) you just want that little extra. We got a 1/3 off and a free upgrade when we booked through Expedia, and for this price it was well worth it!

We had a great time, location is great, and facilities are good, but make sure you get a good discount before considering this hotel!

  • Liked — The Samuri Warriors in the entrance!
  • Disliked — The "Business Centre" - One old PC in a corner at £10 per hour!
