We got reservations to this hotel for the last day of our honeymoon out of italy. We were coming back from Milan to Rome to fly out othe following day. We had stayed at another hotel in the very near vicinity two weeks earlier and were slightly familiar with the location. The rate and rankings on tripadvisor is what drew out this hotel. I had payed three times more a block away for an OK room with American standars.
The hotel is on the fourth floor. There is no sign as far was we still can tell the directs you to the fourth floor (so I randomly went to every floor until I found an open door with the owner sitting inside with an anticipatory smile). There is an elevator for your luggage. The owner is nice and gives you a crash course of the city hotspots for food etc. Our room 407 was decked out in a venetian chandlier, had a large but hard bed (which you will learn is fairly common in Italy sepcially in Rome). The room was clean but had minor repairs on the floor which did not mesh with the rest of decor and overall gave the room a minor feeling of unkemptness. The bathroom was clean and the shower has a standing jacuzzi (this is the pressure outlets from the wall). For some reason, on the morning of our departure, the water went completely ice cold on me when taking a shower (a point you may want to bring up with the owner if you choose to stay here). There is breakfast, but we didn't get to take advantage of it fully as our train to the airport was leaving before the service time but we did see the staff setting it up and it looked great with a broad selection. We got to enjoy two jam filled croissants on the go.
Overall, this is a good budget hotel (90Euro) for its proximity to the Termini and a short walk to all the landmarks. A separate note which was not clear to me prior to travelling to Rome: this is a very small city (in comparison to cities such as SF, Seattle, NY, LA). Don't worry about location and proximity to landmarks. We pretty much walked the four corners of the city everyday for four days in a row! So pick a hotel that makes you feel comfortable and safe.

Thanks for chooising Le real for your "last Roman day ". We wish to add: The sign there is and there was again as for every hotel...it was more correct say: i didn't read the sign. The 407 as every our bed in our rooms (from Classic till Jr Suite room) is furnished with extra memory foam matresses. We apology you have found it hard. The shower in the 407 as in every our luxury room is not a standard shower ..it is as mini pool and ..after 30 mins of Rain shower the temperature go down easily expecially if you use contemporany "Rain shower" and "Hidromassage Jacuzzi-Cromotherapy" togeter. We don't understand if the price paied (90 euro) is more or less adeguate for one room in the center of Rome with more amenities as Plasma cable Tv, Led lights, cromotherapy , rain shower, hidromassage, extra memory foam matress, silk linen and service included for two persons.

I found the bed&breakfast very very good! Situated in the center of rome. The room very comfortable and elegant. The cleanliness I found here, never saw in others hotels.

This was a great room (very clean and spacious) in a very convenient location. We had a short walk to the train station and a 10 minute walk down to the Coliseum, and a lot of great restaurants were located nearby. Highly recommend!

Stayed here for 4 nights at the end of our trip. We had booked the Jr. Executive Suite at $165 a night. Checked in easy around 11AM with no problems, however the hallway foyer leading to our room was torn up and covered with paper. Room was nice to look at, very clean and obviously recently remodeled. Number of strange things regarding the room: no privacy door outside the bathroom to separate it from the bedroom, no furniture to store clothing. Asked the owner how to turn on the AC, he said the city would allow them to run it when it was under 20 degrees Celsius. Room did get cool on it's own but would have liked the hum of the AC to block out the traffic noise from below. Room also did not have a refrigerator as promised. Owner told me at check-in that it would be installed the next day but it never was. Biggest problem we had was with the room key. You get 3 keys for your room. We went out sightseeing the first day and returned to the building around 6PM. Our key would not open the big wooden door on the first floor, we were locked out and the staff had already left!!! We waited outside until someone exited the building and we slid in. We could get into our room but couldn't leave the building until the hotel office opened at 9 the next morning. They gave us another key and agreed to lower our nightly rate by $5 euro because of this problem and the no refrigerator issue. The hotel was nice enough but we wouldn't stay here again, just didn't trust the owners, couldn't take them at their word. Street noise is loud and you can hear and feel the subway rumble below every 7-8 minutes. No way you could sleep in the room with the windows open.

Booked the lovely suite that the B&B has on the 2nd floor back in October 2008 for our anniversary in April. Telephoned the hotel, stated that it was the suite on the 2nd floor, e-mailed confirming this, asked for the price and again confirmed that this was the suite and not just the rooms on the 4th floor. Was told yes, not to worry and everything would be fine. His English was perfect, so I booked the suite. Turned up and was taken to the rooms on the 4th floor, explained I had booked the suite on the 2nd floor. Was told that room wasn't available and it was the smaller room or nothing. What could I do in Rome on Good Friday. It was like Joseph and Mary in Bethlehem. I was really dissapointed to be treated like this and felt ripped off as we had been sold the suite but just got a room. I had paid €60 per night extra on top of the normal rate to get the suite. I asked for the reduction but all of a sudden nobody in the Hotel could speak any English anymore. I wanted to go beserk but it was our anniversary and I didn't want to ruin it even more. We were only there for the weekend. I have written to the owner asking for some money back, will see if I get any joy. The hotel in itself is very good. It's location is perfect, the rooms are clean and tidy and they provide free refreshments. This was my third stay, and I had seen the suite previously so you can see why I was dissapointed. We still had a good time but if I ever went to Rome again I wouldn't stay here as they ripped us off and I wouldn't recommend the place to anyone.
