Stayed here for 4 nights at the end of our trip. We had booked the Jr. Executive Suite at $165 a night. Checked in easy around 11AM with no problems, however the hallway foyer leading to our room was torn up and covered with paper. Room was nice to look at, very clean and obviously recently remodeled. Number of strange things regarding the room: no privacy door outside the bathroom to separate it from the bedroom, no furniture to store clothing. Asked the owner how to turn on the AC, he said the city would allow them to run it when it was under 20 degrees Celsius. Room did get cool on it's own but would have liked the hum of the AC to block out the traffic noise from below. Room also did not have a refrigerator as promised. Owner told me at check-in that it would be installed the next day but it never was. Biggest problem we had was with the room key. You get 3 keys for your room. We went out sightseeing the first day and returned to the building around 6PM. Our key would not open the big wooden door on the first floor, we were locked out and the staff had already left!!! We waited outside until someone exited the building and we slid in. We could get into our room but couldn't leave the building until the hotel office opened at 9 the next morning. They gave us another key and agreed to lower our nightly rate by $5 euro because of this problem and the no refrigerator issue. The hotel was nice enough but we wouldn't stay here again, just didn't trust the owners, couldn't take them at their word. Street noise is loud and you can hear and feel the subway rumble below every 7-8 minutes. No way you could sleep in the room with the windows open.

Booked the lovely suite that the B&B has on the 2nd floor back in October 2008 for our anniversary in April. Telephoned the hotel, stated that it was the suite on the 2nd floor, e-mailed confirming this, asked for the price and again confirmed that this was the suite and not just the rooms on the 4th floor. Was told yes, not to worry and everything would be fine. His English was perfect, so I booked the suite. Turned up and was taken to the rooms on the 4th floor, explained I had booked the suite on the 2nd floor. Was told that room wasn't available and it was the smaller room or nothing. What could I do in Rome on Good Friday. It was like Joseph and Mary in Bethlehem. I was really dissapointed to be treated like this and felt ripped off as we had been sold the suite but just got a room. I had paid €60 per night extra on top of the normal rate to get the suite. I asked for the reduction but all of a sudden nobody in the Hotel could speak any English anymore. I wanted to go beserk but it was our anniversary and I didn't want to ruin it even more. We were only there for the weekend. I have written to the owner asking for some money back, will see if I get any joy. The hotel in itself is very good. It's location is perfect, the rooms are clean and tidy and they provide free refreshments. This was my third stay, and I had seen the suite previously so you can see why I was dissapointed. We still had a good time but if I ever went to Rome again I wouldn't stay here as they ripped us off and I wouldn't recommend the place to anyone.

We were there for part business and part vacation. Very well situated and clean. We loved our stay at Le Real de Luxe overlooking the Esquilino Hill with superb views of the Via Cavour. Great Rooms with modern and contemporary showers. The staff were welcoming and friendly. We liked the breakfast with the variety and quality of food. The staff throughout the hotel were very accommodating. We would stay there again anytime.
It's wonderfull place to be visited

This might be a 'deluxe' hotel, it might not - we never found out. Certainly there was NO quality of service in the way they mishandled our booking.
Booked an excellent last-minute deal via a 3rd party online agency. Then, the next day...
1) Call from agency advising me that my reservation would be cancelled as my credit card authorisation was denied.
2) Called agent to tell them that my card would be fine once I had notified my bank that I would be using the card outside the UK. Asked by agent to call hotel directly.
3) Called hotel and was told to send an email with this info!!!! Email sent immediately.
4) No acknowledgement from hotel and further phone calls by me went unanswered. I assumed all ok - after all they have valid credit card details guaranteeing the room.
5) Arrived at hotel the next day at noon to be told that they had cancelled our booking due to the credit card 'problem' and when I recounted the telephone conversation (same staff member, she didn't deny it!) was told their ''server was down''. Shocking treatment.
6) Upon our return to the UK my credit card company have confirmed there was NO attempt to authorise my card in the first place!
I believe the hotel received a higher-priced offer for a room after our booking was made. Dishonourable and shameful treatment that could have - in a busier season - left us high and dry! Be warned!
We quickly booked across the road at the Hotel Cavour. Athough not 'deluxe' (it doesn't claim to be), the welcome and service we received there certainly put 58 Le Real De Luxe to shame. (see separate review)

Call from Agency..Agent called etc etc.
Certainly there was NO quality of service...
Sorry but
We are not responsable.

All the history is from The Agency (..) and you
(client)because
the Agency was not able to process your booking for the due agency's commissions.

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights end of January and were really impressed. I must admit from the outside it doesn't look much and the entrance could be easily missed as it is on the 4th floor of an apartment block, even when we got out of the lift we weren't sure we were in the right place! We arrived about 10.30 am and our room was ready straight away, we were then given a map of Rome and advice on public transport, where to eat etc which we found very useful. Staff were extremely helpful. Breakfast was much better than I expected after reading some reviews - plenty of choice, cereal, meat, cheese, bread, croissants and pastries etc, tea, cofffee and juice. Very nice self service arrangement.
Would definitely stay there again - nothing was too much trouble. The quality of the accommodation certainly added to the fantastic time we had - bright sunshine every day - perfect break. Approx 20 min walk to Colesseum - probably takes longer though as you keep getting side tracked looking at other things and 5 min walk to terminus although we didn't use any public transport - just walked everywhere. About 1 to 1 1/2 hour walk from accommodation to Vatican - we went round "the pretty way" so probably could be done quicker but we would have missed so much on a bus. Would definitely recommend a pair of comfy shoes, a map and just set off.
