Stayed here for 4 nights at the end of our trip. We had booked the Jr. Executive Suite at $165 a night. Checked in easy around 11AM with no problems, however the hallway foyer leading to our room was torn up and covered with paper. Room was nice to look at, very clean and obviously recently remodeled. Number of strange things regarding the room: no privacy door outside the bathroom to separate it from the bedroom, no furniture to store clothing. Asked the owner how to turn on the AC, he said the city would allow them to run it when it was under 20 degrees Celsius. Room did get cool on it's own but would have liked the hum of the AC to block out the traffic noise from below. Room also did not have a refrigerator as promised. Owner told me at check-in that it would be installed the next day but it never was. Biggest problem we had was with the room key. You get 3 keys for your room. We went out sightseeing the first day and returned to the building around 6PM. Our key would not open the big wooden door on the first floor, we were locked out and the staff had already left!!! We waited outside until someone exited the building and we slid in. We could get into our room but couldn't leave the building until the hotel office opened at 9 the next morning. They gave us another key and agreed to lower our nightly rate by $5 euro because of this problem and the no refrigerator issue. The hotel was nice enough but we wouldn't stay here again, just didn't trust the owners, couldn't take them at their word. Street noise is loud and you can hear and feel the subway rumble below every 7-8 minutes. No way you could sleep in the room with the windows open.
