While we only stayed here for one night at the end of our Italy trip before flying home the next morning, our stay was a very nice one.
Room: We had a regular double room with a small balcony you could peek out onto facing the relaxing and beautiful palm-tree filled inner courtyard area of the hotel, as we requested based on some other reviews stating street noise on the other side of the hotel. Our stay was quiet, the room was clean, had the features of a modern hotel room, the breakfast buffet had lots of great options (fruit, breads, meats, cheeses, juices, coffee, tea, etc...), staff helped call for our taxi the next morning and offered other help, the hotel was in a nice location to Trastevere and the river area, and the staff was helpful and friendly. A nice way to end our travels! Everything was as we read and hoped it would be.
A small drawback I would say for this hotel was that it is on the other side of the river from some of the main historic attractions in Rome (ex. Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Colisseum). It is, however, on the side of the Vatican area and just a short walk across the river to the Trastevere area with its many shops and restaurants. There were also many restaurants right nearby the hotel, just a step outside, and also nice piazzas. We walked across the Ponte Sisto bridge, right outside down the street, to the Trastevere neighborhood for lunch and the afternoon, then spending the evening on the same side as the hotel exploring that area and eating dinner on a piazza nearby. We felt safe in these areas and there were lots of other people all around at all the hours we were out.
For our first two nights at the beginning of our trip we stayed at a hotel right near the Pantheon and this hotel seemed a bit more in the heart of Rome than the Ponte Sisto, although, like we said, for the ammenities and overall experience at this hotel we would also gladly stay here again. The location was just slightly different than the first hotel, although very good.
A great stay and we would definitely stay at again.
