“Wonderful staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

The staff were so helpful from the time we arrived. We were a party of three and booked a large room with a small kitchenette. The room was very spacious and clean. There was a large rooftop terrace with ample nice, clean outside furniture. There is also a small lift that goes to the 3rd floor. To get to the fourth floor you need to climb just a few small steps. We loved the location. Near several restaurants and across the street was a gelato store. Perfect! Three minutes away was the Cavour underground station. We stayed 3 nights, then returned after our tour round Italy for one more night to find we were upgraded to a room with it's own terrace. The owner was so kind and looked after us like we were family and so did the staff. We needed help with the safe very late one night and someone was there within minutes. I would like to thank all the staff for helping me on the last day after my sisters left to go back to Canada. My flight to Sweden was late that evening. I had a whole day by myself feeling rather sad. All the staff went out of their way to accommodate me. My experience here at this hotel was excellent. Hope you have the same.

Room Tip: The large room without the private terrace would be excellent for a family of 5. There is a large be...

It was a challenge navigating the streets of Rome but eventually found the hotel. If you have a vehicle you should park in a garage that is about a 5 minute walk. Unload first then go park (hotel will direct you). Staff were very helpful. Location was perfect and easily within walking distance to all of the great sites that Rome has to offer. The room was like a small apartment with full kitchen, sitting area and separate bedroom. The value was fabulous! I would definitely stay here again!

Let me first begin with the positives of the hotel. The room was spacious by European standards and the hotel had a fabulous rooftop terrace and was in an ideal location. Close to both the Cavour Metro Station and a 10 minute walk to the Colosseum. There were several good restaurants within a short stroll of the hotel. The airconditioning worked well in the room and was necessary for the duration of our stay.
The negatives of Rezidenza Leonina were; extremely hard/firm, uncomfortable beds, poor qualtiy bedding and hard pillows. I can tolerate a lot of things but to me, a good nights rest is imperative. By the end of our 5 night (prepaid or we would have changed) stay, my hips were aching from the hard bed. Both my husband and myself rested poorly during our stay here. The bathroom was quite spacious and boasted a shower, however, the ceiling height in the bath made it impossible to stand up to have a shower. The jetted tub was a bonus.
Housekeeping was done only every 3rd day so towels etc. had to be reused often. The closet space was extremely limited so most of our clothing had to be stacked in the living area on the table. Although the hotel suite was "equipped", it had insufficent glassware and cutting utensils. We had to purchase wineglasses and a proper corkscrew as the one provided was of poor quality and broken.
The staff were friendly and attempted to resolve our concerns but in the end, language seemed to be a barrier with making our desires understood.
I would not recommend this hotel to friends or family but would indeed recommend the area.
I must commend the photographers on their depiction of the hotel. The photos were extremely flattering but misleading to anyone seeking lodging here.

A good location to have to explore everything that Rome has to offer. The receptionist was very welcoming and a map was given on arrival and we were shown on the map where all the places of interest were located.

The apartments were spotlessly clean, very spacious and has everything you needed to prepare food if you did not want to eat in the local restaurants for which there were plenty to choose from. The only negative thing about the apartment that we were allocated (room 12) was as it was on the groung floor the windows were on the same leve as the road itself so could not really open the windows as passers by could look down into the apartment.

The Colosseum, Forum and Piazza Venezia are about 10 minutes walk away, you can get a ticket for he hop on hop off bus which costs around 28 euros for two days and this is good as you could walk quite a few miles accross the city to get to all the main attractions. we got our ticket from the reception of the appartments for the Ciao Roma bus tour. This company does not seem to have a very reliable service and other companies had more buses on their tours so you are not waiting for the next bus as they are full. Also if you do not get your ticket from the allocated bus stops the representative selling tickets at the bus stops will give priority to tourists who have got the tickets from him and you will have to wait until they have a seat. This happened to me and my friend. ( We still ignored the representantative and got on the bus).

I felt safe whilst touring and thing you just have to be aware of your surroundings as I was told there were quite a few pickpockets in the city.

I had a good stay in Rome and would recommend the appartments to friends to stay. So if you are thinking of booking the Leonina I know you will not be dissappointed but try not to have Rooms 11 & 12 simply due to restructions of opening the windows, everything else was great.

Enjoy your stay.

Room Tip: Avoid Rooms 11 & 12.

I am currently here right now! A girlfriend and I love our room. Love the square just outside of the door, with a delightful gelato place right there. We had an after hours arrival, however, got a very detailed and straight forward email as to what we need to do, was quite easy to figure it out! It does get hot in the room, but we would just turn on the a/c in the living room and cool we get! Very friendly & helpful staff! Rooms are very clean and pleasent to relax in. We are in our 4th night here, one more and we go home. Beautiful places to eat that are close, close to the coliseum. Easy to find again after a day of roaming around in Rome. Would definitely come back!

We spent a wonderful 5 nights in room 101 of this apartment block. Our room overlooked a lovely square where people gathered every evening to socialise. Despite this we were never troubled by any noise. The rooftop terrace was a fantastic place to relax after a long day sightseeing. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times and had no issue with lending us a corkscrew for the duration of our stay.
We found many nice restaurants and trattorias located near the apartment all of which served delicious and very reasonably priced food and drinks.

Located only a short walk from Termini station on a nice cobble stoned street, Residenza Leoninia has a welcoming entrance area, fantastic, helpful staff. Our Room was spotlessly clean with all mod cons and a comfortable bed that provided a great nights sleep. The roof terrace was great for having a few cold beers before heading out in the evening. The apartments are located a short walk from a cobblestoned square with a fountain, surrounded by restaurants and a view of the colosseum from the bottom of it. The location gave us the perfect chance to experience the real Rome. We will most definitely be back. 11 out of 10!
