My wife and I were passing through Rome for only 1 night, so we decided to stay at this Hotel. With 4 suitcases, the journey to the Hotel from the Subway was the not the most pleasant. It is quite a way from the station but once you arrive at the Hotel, all of our frustration seemed to disappear. The check-in went smooth, we were helped to our room, and the whole Hotel was rather nice. The rooms were quiet, the Bathroom was very clean, but the beds weren't the best. I am over 6' tall, so my legs hung over the end. I'm used to this, as most Italians aren't as tall us.

The breakfast in the morning was excellent, fresh fruit, cereal, cold meats and cheese, and fresh pastries. We decided after the long walk from the subway with 4 bags that we would take a cab to the train station as we were off to Venice.

I would recommend this Hotel to anyone who wants a good nights sleep who doesn't mind being away from the Downtown of this quite large city.

  • Liked — Quality of the morning breakfast
  • Disliked — The beds weren't up to a 4 Star standard

We have just returned from a 9- night stay. The room was clean and pleasant with full bathroom and bidet. It had electronic room key but was a little bijou. There was a free room-safe and relatively cheap mini-bar (e.g. wine 3eu, water 1eu) .The room and hotel were quiet even though we were next to the lift.
It is only 500 metres from Bologna Metro but if you have cases, Rome’s metro stations do not have an all-escalator exit. If you pre-book in UK you can get from Ciampino airport to Termini Station for 10euro return per person by Terravision Coach! Don’t be put off by the somewhat drab walk to the hotel, worse when shops are closed and graffiti on the shutters is very visible.
The rooms all have SKY TV but before you get excited only one channel, BBC WORLD is in English!
The sixth floor restaurant (for breakfast only) is excellent and has good views across the suburbs. Fare includes hot and cold drinks, an abundance of fruit, yoghurt, bread, cereal, meat and cheese and the attentions of a very good waitress/manager.
There is no restaurant or bar.
The friendly reception staff all speak English and when the Hotel (which is only 8 years old) has a major refurbishment in November there will be more facilities including a ground floor bar. You can get to all the main tourist sites from one of the two metro lines starting at Line B at Bologna and it’s very cheap, too.
There are very few restaurants in the immediate area but one stands out; The “Restaurant Chines” only 150 metres north of the hotel on Piazza del Province at which you can get a superb well –cooked and appetising ‘banquet’ including drinks all for around 12 euros each!
Whist on the subject of restaurants ; a tip worth knowing is that McDonalds have restaurants right by the Spanish Steps and immediately in front of the Pantheon. A good cappuccino is 1eu and an ice cream cone a mere 50 cents. Don’t be put off by the stereotype, the Spanish Steps Restaurant is palatial and the Pantheon offers the best seats overlooking the square.
If you hire a car, at present there is FREE mid-street parking provided you can tolerate the frantic Italian driving!
Altogether a good holiday experience based in a small but comfortable hotel.

This hotel was absolutely amazing. The staff was very friendly, and offered advice about what to do and how to do it. However, the hotel is a 30 minute walk from Termini, and about an hour walk from the Spanish Steps. (This made our nights rather quiet - being outside of the city center). We were able to walk for the first two days of our stay, but for the following three days we bought the Roma pass (which included a subway/bus pass) and used that. There is a bus stop nearby and a subway station about 4 blocks away. The hotel room was very spacious for a European room, and everything in the room was immaculate. Also, the towels in the bathroom were laundered every day. Finally, the best part was the breakfast. We had booked this hotel after reading the reviews on this site, and some reviewers were not impressed with the breakfast. However, we felt that it was more than sufficient to carry us through dinner. It included juice, coffee, tea, bread, cereal, yogurt, deli meats and fresh fruits. Overall, we had an amazing stay here and would recommend it to anyone that wouldn't mind being outside of the city center.

Underhand Hotel tactics

This hotel put us in a small room, by which we originally specified a larger room, after the first night however they put us in the correct type of room, without any compensation of any sort. Another suprise was in store. They charged us for a Baby Cot at the rate of 15 euros per night which was not originally communicated to us. We assumed it was inclusive in the price. So we ended up paying an extra 60 euros for our stay on the basis of 4 nights. This is an underhand tactic by a typical greedy hotel!!!

I just returned from a month in Europe. We stayed at the Hotel Delle Province for four nights. We found the hotel to be easily reachable although not centrally located. The hotel was a short walk from the Bologna metro station. We decided to take the train from the airport rather than taking a taxi. We caught the F1 regional train from the airport (it cost half the price of the express) to the Tiburtina station and then changed to the metro to go to the Bologna metro station. This cost me only 5.5 Euro (they said my 11 year old did not have to pay). This would be difficult with heavy luggage or if you get on the metro line during commute time, when it is quite crowded. But we managed fine (there is an elevator in the Bologna metro station) We had a bit of a hard time finding the correct street leaving the metro station, because there are several streets converging at the Bologna roundabout, but the street name is on the side of a building, it just took a bit for us to find it. As we walked toward the hotel I was surprised and concerned about the amount of graffiti in the square and along the street.

We were pleasantly welcomed upon arrival. The staff seemed helpful. One receptionist in particular spoke very good English and was extremely attentive. We had a good size room with a flat screen TV and a modern bathroom. The prices of the minibar items in the room were extremely reasonable.

I was wary that a previous TA reviewer noted that he had not been able to charge his cell phone because of a Hotel policy. This seemed strange, but I chose not to change my reservations. When I arrived I received a letter from the management stating, “For safety reasons, it is not possible to use electrical devices as iron, kettles or similar in rooms.” I called reception and told them that I need to charge my cell phone. He asked that I bring the phone and the charger downstairs for him to see and then he loaned me the 3-prong electrical converter to change the phone in my room (no problem). I did not ask for an iron so I am not sure of that policy.

The hotel breakfast was sufficient. There were breads, cold cuts, coffee and juices. They had an instant coffee machine but the ladies working in the kitchen also made fresh espresso/cappuccino for those customers that asked in Italian.

I can’t give recommendations for food around the hotel, as we only ate one dinner in the neighborhood and were not too impressed. We ate gelato at the large bakery/bar corner shop about a block away. We found the gelato to be much more reasonably priced (even when we decided to sit down) than in the town center and equally as delicious. The gentleman working there was very pleasant.
