The best thing about this hotel is it's location which is wonderful. Rome is easy to tour on foot and even easier if with the Cosmopolita as a base since you can pop back to use the bathroom or put your feet up between sights. There are numerous restuarants within a few minute's walk and all the major sights are on the doorstep. The furthest we went was the Vatican which was a 30 min walk straight down Corso Vittorio Emanuel II and the Villa Borghese whihc is again about 30 mins down Via del Corso.
Rooms are basic but clean and comfy if a little hot. We had a twin room which would be small by American standards but perectly fine for Europeans. It is certainly not a luxury hotel but has all you need for a good base to stay. The bathroom had a good shower and a hairdryer. The mini bar was well stocked but had space for you to put your own drinks in if needed. The windows are double or triple glazed and shut out street noise very well.
Breakfast was very good with something for most people - fruit, pastries, eggs, bacon, yoghurts, cereal, breads, cheese and ham as well as a good reange of hot drinks. Despite being busy nothing ran out as the buffet was frequently replenished.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful and speak excellent English and French but are also happy to chat in Italian if you want to practice! They are also happy to give recommendations for restaurants etc, give directions and look after your luggage after checking out.
