We stayed in Hotel Andreotti for one week's holiday trip in two rooms, one with a single double bed and the other with two single beds. Both rooms were dark and

The hotel is some 5 min walk away from the Termini station which has good connection for buses, trains and metro lines A and B intersecting. So it's very easy and fast to get for example to Vatican for just 1 EUR.

A taxi trip close to Trasvere or Ghetto areas cost about 10-12 EUR. The hotel staff will call you a taxi when you need one.

Anyway, for those who want to walk, the hotel is a bit far away, 30-45 minutes walk away from the ancient Rome. We walked a little less than one hour to the Colosseum in traffic hours. (Of course, women are window shopping which can slow down your walk.;)

The next time I'm going to Rome I'll choose a hotel closer to older areas, maybe Trastevere.

Hotel itself was nice looking, kind of renovated to look old. The furniture was a bit mixed without but the atmosphere was still great.

Hotel breakfast is continental. We had a couple of juices, coffee, tea, bread, ham and salami, one or two varietys of cheese, some sausage, cake, fruits, yoghurts and so one. Coffee and juice are only available from a a machine, something that's unfortunately becoming more and more common in Italy.

Andreotti's staff was very friendly, although they didn't speak English very well. No problems anway.

It's worth noting there's a wall-to-wall carpet in hotel rooms and public areas. There was lots of dust in both our rooms. This is not a good hotel for those who are very allergic or have astma.

Rooms were quite airless and smelly. You can open the windows, but then you'll get sounds from the nearhy bars etc. If you're not a good sleeper, the backside of the hotel is more quiet than the front.

If you're on business, there was an internet connection (Ethernet cable) available at least in hour rooms.

One disappointment was that they closed their cery comfortable bar already at 9 pm. We didn't find that nice music or wine bar close to the hotel.

  • Liked — Freindly service, nice looking
  • Disliked — A wall-to-wall carpet, bad air, smelly, dark rooms, a little far away from the ancient Rome

The Hotel Andreotti is located from near the train station in Rome. This is what we were looking for. The area around the train station may look like it may be a little unsafe but it was fine and have stayed at other hotels in this area during previous trips to Italy. The hotel Andreotti was clean and the staff was always friendly. The breakfast each morning was great. However, the air conditioning was just not up to par during our trip. The staff informed us the air conditioning doesn't turn on until 2 o'clock pm but sometimes didn't turn on closer to 5pm. It also was suppose to stay on until 6:30am but on different occasions it shut off at 4:30am and other time at 5:30am. It makes for getting ready in the morning and relaxing in the evening very hot especially in summer even with the windows open.

  • Liked — Location and friendly staff
  • Disliked — air conditioning problems

I made the decision to stay at the Andreotti for my first trip to Rome with a friend. It's a daunting task to say the least about where to stay when you've never been there. But between reviews, locations, cost, etc. we chose the Andreotti. Afterward, I was a bit hesitant when reading about the Termini area of Rome and knowing that this was close to that area.
Well, let me say that it was an amazing experience all around. From the moment we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted with classic Italian charm and warmth. And it didn't stop the entire time we were there. Breakfast was amazing (AND included) in the way of fresh juices, coffees, milk, water, pastries, bread, meats, eggs, cereal, yogurt....you name it, it was there and it was fresh and good.
Any and all questions were greeted at the front desk and everyone was in a good mood and willing to help offer suggestions and tips. The room itself was small (but average in compared to rome standards) but very clean and presentable. And kept so daily by the maids.
The insides are classic rome....very well laid out and very nice detail at all turns, including the stairs, lobby, breakfast room and bar. Clean at all times, quiet, tucked away off an alley of sorts.
If you're going to Rome, GO FOR THE ANDREOTTI. I'm not kidding. After being there and staying in two hotels as a first timer, the Termini area is awesome. Sure, there are some parts that seem sketchy, but you can say that about any large city's subway system. The best part? Termini is THE crossroads of Rome to go north or south cheaply and conveniently.
With the dollar so low and euro so high, the subway is basically a free ride to wherever you want to go and quickly. For about 16 euros, you can ride buses and subway ALL WEEK. And that, my friends, is a STEAL.
The Andreotti was safe (literally, a safe in the room and attentive desk workers), charming, clean and cozy.
Do not hesitate...take the word of someone who was searching feverishly for all of these qualities as a first time visitor to rome. We made a brilliant choice and will definitely stay there again if we go back.
Even paying the bill upon checking out was a pleasure and a bit sad to say goodbye. The entire staff of the Andreotti is to be praised for the helpfullness and the good moods that they display at all times. Amazing hotel, food and staff.

  • Liked — Amazing staff, great location, CLEAN AND SAFE.
  • Disliked — some noise outside the window, not in the control of the hotel

We stayed in THe Andreotti for four nights in Oct 06.
The location was good though the entrance to the Hotel -carpet and walls- was dirty and grimey .
The bedroom was quite small for a double room and the bathroom door didn't open fully as the bidet was behind it.
The bathroom did not have a bath ,just a shower ,but that was not a problem for us.
The tiled wall in the bathroom near the toilet was dirty on our arrival and was not cleaned during our stay.
The air conditioning did not work and there were toe nail clippings -not ours-on the bedroom floor .
Breakfast was just about adequate ,juices -not fresh-from a machine ,ham, cereal.croissants ,tea and coffee.
The dining room was quite dark .
The wall leading up along the stairs was also dirty and marked.
We slept well though and there was no noise from the street, although that may be because we had walked so much during the day ! I would not stay in The Andreotti again and I would definitely not recommend it to anyone.

  • Liked — convienent location
  • Disliked — Hotel entrance-first impressions -dirty . Stair carpet was also dirty .Exterior lights were not working-bulbs blown ,a bad first impression .

The hotel benefits from an excellent location. Literally a 5 minute walk from the Termini Station, which gives you access to Metro Lines A & B. Small, friendly, atmospheric hotel. Helpful reception staff who speak good English. Rooms are compact, but well equiped and spotless. Continental breakfast includes fresh fruit, pastries and cold meats. Only negative aspect of this hotel is the bar closes around 9.30pm, but don't be apprehensive to visit the 'Snack Bar' accross the road, as we were made to feel welcome on our daily visit. There is also a selection of local restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel. Ask the reception staff for details.

  • Liked — Location
  • Disliked — Bar closes at 9.30pm
  • Tips/Secrets: — Do not get a taxi from the terminal as you are literally only minutes away.
