Just got back from a long weekend in Rome staying at the Hotel Pyramid. Took us 4 hours to eventually find the hotel with not much help from the young girls on reception when we called them for directions (I no that we should have done more planning but didn't think it would be that hard to find!!!)Anyway we eventually got there in 1 piece to a friendly welcome from young ladies on reception there english was much better in person. We got to our room to find it was pretty basic but is what we were expecting so weren't too disappointed. If you are looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful and a bit out of the way from Central Rome this Hotel is fine. We didn't really no what to expect with it being our first time Rome but just a little warning for you if you are not a heavy sleeper beware there walls are very thin and can get a little noisey which didn't bother us too much after a good 10 hours sight seeing, getting to sleep was not much of a problem. Breakfast was pretty basic bread rolls, croissants, coffee and juice but again it was ok we weren't expecting the full works! Our room was cleaned well with clean bed sheets each day and fresh towels (might be an idea to bring one of your own as they were quite thin) but we were happy with the service provided. In the evenings you will find a man on reception who I think was the owner but a very lovely man who was always happy to see you and gave us very helpful information. This hotel is not far from Metro stations so although it's not in the centre it's not a problem getting there and we enjoyed the little journeys there anyway. So all in all I probably wouldn't stay here again as there are so many hotels to try out but if you are going to stay here then if you go not expecting too much you will be happy.

stayed here for 2 nights and thought it was a bit out in the sticks although close to a tube station, the hotel was clean but at night it was very noisy due to the water pipes knocking and creaking all night long ,also we had some very noisy italians staying in the next 2 rooms and they were also very loud till around 3am. managed to find a nice restaurant round the corner which was very nice and very cheap compared to the rest of romes very inflated prices,a meal for 2 with drinks and desert costs us less than 35 euros..overall we would not stay here again and would look to find a hotel a bit closer to the centre of town..also the breakfast consisted of a brown roll and coffee from a machine so not good.

We booked our holiday about five months ago. After booking we came home and read trip advisor reviews. After reading some of
them we thought about changing hotels. We re glad we didn t.
We flew with Ryan air and on the flight they sell tickets for a transfer to the termi station in the centre of Rome. For a return
transfer it cost 14 euros each, and we done this.
When you arrive at Termi station buy a one euro ticket from one
of the newspaper stands. The metro has two lines A and B.
You need line B.Its about three stations away and is called
pyramide.Turn left out of the station and go round the corner.
The road for the hotel is about ten minutes down the main road
on the right hand side next to Burger king.
When we arrived at the hotel we were happy with it.The staff are
helpful and the room was a good size, clean and comfortable.
Its true the bathroom is a wetroom but we didn t find this a
problem. There is a fantastic cake shop near the hotel Turn
left out of hotel and right at the end of the road. Its about three
doors down and is called Andreotti. The freshly squeezed
orange juice and lattes are lovely and so are the mini cakes.
For the drinks i mentioned and about four of the mini cakes
it was only about five euros.Don t stay here and not go there.
The hotel give you a street map and it shows you all the attractions. They reccomend the buses but we found you could
get everywhere by metro.
At the station buy a four euro ticket and you can use this all day
on buses and metro. The colosseum is about three stops away
from pyramide.We reccomend a guided tour.Its 20 euros each
and they also guide you round the ruins opposite. Its also good
as you miss the ques.
St peters is a must see and you can get to that from metro
line A which you pick up from termi.I can t remember what
stop but it tells you what sights are at what stop on the metro
boards. We walked to the top of the dome at st peters. Its 300
spiral steps but the view is worth it.
Theres so much more we could say.Rome is great and as long
as you wear comfortable shoes you ll love exploring it.
The ABC Pyramide was a good hotel and if we were to go back
to Rome we would stay there again.

The Hotel overall wasnt too bad. I accept that us Australians are probably used to better quality hotels for 3 stars but that aside Ill start with the good points. The room was a decent size, plenty of room for three young girls and their luggage. The hotel staff were extremely nice, very friendly and helpful. Fantastic restaurant right around the corner (turn right out the door and right at the next street and three or so doors down) - we ate there almost every night! Bad points- major one was the BATHROOM. It was gross. Dirty, not cleaned while we were there, tiny, mouldy shower curtain. When you sat on the toilet your feet were literally on top of the shower drain. So when you showered EVERYTHING got wet. We were used to changing in the bathroom, being three single girls but we had to all get changed in the same room. The area was also extremely dodgy and we didnt really feel comfortable wondering around at night. There was some very suss men hanging around the club a couple of doors down called "sinister sounds.." enough said. Also very far out from the sights. When i go back to Rome i will definately spend more to stay in the center where its nicer!

Have just returned today from a long-weekend stay at this hotel.

As far as 3 star hotels go, this wasn't a great one. While the rooms were clean and well decorated, the air conditioning was poor (the requests to reception to turn it up fell on deaf ears) and 2 days running our used towels were taken and not replaced...requiring more visits to reception. We also had to leave a 20 euro deposit in order to have the tv remote controls, which was returned at the end of the stay.

Beware of the strange bathroom setup, a shower inbetween the toilet and basin, in a tiny little room, with no defined space of its own...everything gets wet!

As mentioned in other reviews, the breakfast is poor - consisting of either a bread roll or croissant and instant machine-made tea and coffee (why on earth would you go to Italy for Cappucino and end up drinking from an instant coffee machine...uurgh!). Eat elsewhere would be our advice...

Also, a word of warning about the location...it is a run down area and next door to the hotel is a 'Live Music Venue'. Each night music was played until 2am - loudly. So loudly in fact, that we believed it to be coming from the next room until further investigation revealed the source.

On a more positive note, the staff were all very friendly especially the gentleman who worked the night shift, and all spoke very good english.

The hotel was reasonably well placed for transport links and there is a good restuarant around the corner (turn right outside the hotel and right again), the decor is basic but the food is very good and cheap.....

Overall, we would describe our stay here as 'ok' but would only use it again as a last resort. We have stayed in better 3 star hotels that are more centrally located, but it was clean and safe and I guess you could probably do worse.
