beautiful rooms, amazing value, good cafe and nice garden. As long as you don't mind staying in Termini... this was a great place to stay by myself.

Location : 2 Mins walk from Roma Termini, great place to stay in Rome - easily accessible from everywhere. With good places to eat around.

Rooms : Clean but Cold ! We stayed in one of the apartment houses instead of the main property. One cold room with shared bathroom. Its a nice clean apartment, but no solace from heat or cold in the apartment.

Cleanliness : Both the hotel and the apartment were very clear and nicely decorated. The actual Beehive hostel is very nicely decorated in what-i-assume is owner's personal style, with nice mirrors and their family photos, but very little italian about any of those.

Food : They have an organic vegetarian cafe with fantastic food. Laura is one of the nicest people we met in Italy, she cooked awesome food for us. And you can decide portions, and how much you want to pay for the food..so it is convenient.

Facilities : internet in the apartment/ lounge , hot water all day. They also allowed us store luggage for quite a while, also have nice books

Value : Not great value for money. You can easily find a cheaper equally nice hotel nearby, with attached bath. Perfectly fine to pay for if you nice the experience of a nice hostel vs a hotel.

The beehive is very close to Termini station in Rome which is a little bit away from some of the major sites (1-2km walking) but close to the train, bus and subway.

It is a very safe hotel/hostel. We stayed four nights in a double room with shared bath and one night in a dorm. The breakfast was tasty (not included in the price of room). A break from the usual croissant.

They have free internet and a cosy area to curl up and read a book. The room we had was very large and a great value. The dorm was a little less than my expectations and not such a great value. For us, I think next time I will book all nights in a double room.

The staff at the desk were friendly and helpful with all of our inquiries.

We were very happy with the Beehive during our 3 night stay in May, 2009. It was a short, easy walk from the Termini station. We opted for a double room, which was extremely clean and had a private sink in it. The shared bathrooms were always very clean and available. The hotel was quite at night, we even left our window open and the noise didn't bother us. There is a handy computer downstairs with internet, and the motel has it's own little cafe downstairs...although we didn't eat there. It's a vegitarian cafe, which really isn't our thing.
The staff was extrememly helpful and friendly. I believe the coliseum area is about 15-20 walk from the Beehive, but we always walked back to the Termini station and used the metro, which was easy and convienent.
Overall, we loved the beehive and would recommend it to anyone!
