Stopped in a double room in December 2006.

Great hostel, good location - handy for the station.
Nice cheap bar - breakfast was good.

Only issue we had was that it was pretty cold in December, and although the room and bar was fine, the hostel general areas - staircase etc. were really cold.

Recommended for warmer times of the year - but in winter bring a jumper.

I liked this place because of its convenient location within a few minutes of walking from Roma Termini train station and subway stop, its clean and convenient in-room restroom and shower, and friendly and good people.

I would stay here again... just be careful of gypsies in the neighborhood who are very aggressive about asking for donations from obvious tourists--they'll take it from you.

Nice, clean and tidy rooms. Very helpful staff but the breakfast was pretty poor. Worth staying in (Good price) but head out for breakfast !

First 3 nights at Palace Hostel was great. However if they ever offer you a "PRIVATE APARTMENT" DO NOT take it. Because we liked it the first 3 nights, we decided to go back for 2 nights after and then the staff said the triple room was full, but said they had a "private apartment" available for the same price, and the bathroom is shared. So we took it, except later on I found out it's actually some of the staff's dorm/apartment. We had to share the apartment with a bunch of guys, and the kitchen was absoltely gross. Washroom was not that clean. Worst of all, I got flea/bedbug bites that first night. Needless to say I changed hotel right after. I just find it absolutely unacceptable that they would rent out their own private apartment (asked me to pay cash too saying the machine was broken) makes me wonder if the staffs were just making money on the side or something.
