Hostel- Alessandro is great for backpackers. Although I would recommend requesting a room closer to the ground floor since the flights of stairs are horrendous especially with a 30 lbs+ bag on your back.

Staff- OK. When we arrived, the hostel was completely swarmed by backpackers so the staffs were quite occupied and not that accommodating. We were allowed to leave our luggage since it was too early to check in at the time.

Rooms- The rooms are spacious and clean. We shared a 6- person room.

Showers- Inside the room. Clean and spacious.

Location- Conveniently located making much of Rome easily accessible either by foot or by metro. Literally a 3- minute walk from Termini station.

Tip- If you're across town at night, finding your way back can be a bit of a challenge. It's a long walk either way so plan your evenings accordingly.

This is my second stay at Hostel Alessandro Palace. Each time I've had great service, felt safe and was in a clean environment. I've done share dorm and private rooms and always had a pleasant experience. I'd recommend Hostel Alessandro Palace to any young would be traveler.

Terrible value for double rooms- 100 euros per night for a horrible room with old dirty furniture, very musty and towels & sheets that looked like roman relics. Safe, fridge & airconditioner all broken during our stay. We left early to stay in a lovely hotel down the road for the same price & could not get a full refund.
Did not see dorm rooms so cannot comment.
Good location & friendly staff- but not enough!

We were on a stag doo so you can imagine the level of tom foolery this place deals with on a regular basis, but there was absolutely no problems at all. The rooms were basic but clean. Only small problem was the air conditioning didn't come on till 11 at night so if you were in the room during the day it was extremely warm and clammy.
The hotel bar is one of the more lively places in Rome and had the cheapest drinks we could find. At one point we were almost naming our prices to the bar tender.
I would highly recommend this place for travelers and weekenders alike.
