I am disappointed by most of the ratings on the web and all the claims from its official websites.

The real scenario of the hostel is never the image they presented on their website.

The hostel is made up of 1 floor of a building only. It is really too small. The dorm rooms are quite crowded. You need to have your own padlock in order to use the locker. The shared bathroom is poorly managed and is somehow unhygienic, i'd say. You will not want to take a bath there...The same case goes for the kitchen. Very small kitchen, which is not user-friendly. Poorly managed and unclean again.

As far as I remember, free internet usage is also limited. The left luggage spot are in the open area of the hostel--no lock at all.

For the "pasta party", you only got a small dish per person (which is not enough). The breakfast is better with bread and cereals.

The only good thing about the hostel is its location. It is located in a road opposite to the main train station (5-min walk perhaps). It is also within the walkable distance to the Coliseum and some other sights.

Though things in Rome are highly-priced, this hostel really doesn't worth that much for its price.

We stayed one night in a 4-bed dorm with ensuite and three nights in an 8-bed dorm. There is no air-conditioning except for in reception, which means the entire place is pretty unbearably hot during summer! The rooms have fans but these don’t really do much... nearly everyone sleeps in their underwear.

The 4-bed dorm definitely wasn’t worth the extra money – the beds were less comfortable than the larger dorm, and although there was an ensuite, the door didn’t lock and I wasn’t comfortable showering, etc. as the only girl in the room. The shared showers and toilets were okay, though not very clean (the same shampoo/soap/snot was on the shower wall when we left as when we arrived) and only one of the two showers had a door that locked. There were no hooks in the showers which made it pretty hard to keep your stuff dry!

There were lockable cages under the beds for secure storage. There was a kitchen but it was pretty scummy and light on pots, pans, plates, etc. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were able to access wifi in our room and got 30 minutes free time each day, which was helpful.

Overall, an okay stay – but we would look for somewhere with air-con if staying in Rome during August again.

I booked the hostel through Hostelworld.com. We were 5 girls traveling and for the review we had heard about Italy, we needed a hostel which was safe and had good reviews. This one was all of that and affordable too. I found the dormitories clean but bathrooms were a bit too small and old fashioned showers. There was some guy fixing the lights in the ladies bathroom and didnt even move out when I needed to use it.

Except that, the kitchen and dining hall was ok. Breakfast was just filling, nothing great. We could have had better breakfast. The free pasta at night was limited quantity but good.

This was a nice hostel at a cheap rate just beside the Rome Termini station. We had to get up early the next morning to catch a train, so this was an ideal location. The hostel is located upstairs and in order to get in you have to buzz the little button for them to unlock the door--they didn't say anything about that on their website, so it through us off. The hostel is mixed gendered with stalls of private changing rooms connected to shower stalls for privacy. The hostel was also clean and gave you your own sheets--but not towels or pillocase. They have free pasta every weeknight if you sign up for it in the morning, which is a nice added bonus. Lots of people and social environment

My friends and I, 6 of us, had the 6-bed dorm. The room was very spacious for 6 people, with chairs and a table in the middle, and it seemed quite clean.

However the hostel DID run out of hot water during our 3-day stay - once at night and once in the morning. Since there wasn't a definite pattern, we couldn't plan when to shower.

For the location, it was very near the train station, which proved very convenient if you arrive by train or have to take the train early in the morning. Take extra care while walking in that area though - quite dodgy, but i guess the areas near train stations are mostly dodgy.

The breakfast was bread, cereal, juice and coffee. Not gourmet but sufficient to last the morning. It is, afterall, a hostel.

However the staff weren't as helpful as we would have liked them to. We needed change for each person as we paid the room charge, but they just gave us a large bill. We asked them to give us small change so we could divide them up, but instead one of the staff said, "Why can't you change among yourselves? You're friends!". it didn't occur to her that we just arrived and we had NO extra change. Even if the hostel didn't have enough, they could have said so politely.
