I stayed at the Bramante Hotel recently. I don't know when the carpet was last cleaned in the hall. The bathroom was large and seemed cleaner than the room. But the rooms in the photo appear large and they are not. They are small, too small and uncomfortable, AND NO ELEVATOR IN THE HOTEL! Although I’m a very regular traveler, I don’t usually make comments on places I’ve stayed, but I’ve rarely wanted to warn people to stay away from a place as much as I do the Hotel Bramante. For the price that we paid, Bramante did not meet our expectations at all. STAY GUYS AWAY FROM IT!

I stayed this week at the Hotel Bramante with my Parents. The property is in a great location right next to the Vatican. Close by are tons of restaurants plus it is only a 10 minute walk to Piazza Navona/Pantheon, etc. We were also very close to the Castle Sant Angelo that had awesome views of Rome!

The front desk is very nice and helpful .. and while their English isn't perfect, they make every effort to help you feel welcome and taken care of!

The hotel has been recently renovated and you can tell. The rooms and bathrooms while not large in size are very well taken care of and have new tile/floors, etc. We really loved the small courtyard where you can sit outside and relax. Someone at this hotel has a green thumb and it shows .. there are tons of beautiful plants scattered around.

The breakfast in the morning was great . .tons of options and very yummy!

We choose this hotel as a result of the reviews on this website. The location is terrific if you want to be close to Vatican City, as it is only a few minutes walk. The room was okay, a little musty. The staff were not friendly, we rarely saw them smile. We had a miscommunication inwhich we thought we had transportation arranged and someone from the hotel would pick us up. After waiting awhile, we contacted the hotel to learn that it had not been arranged. We took a taxi instead, and it was cheaper anyhow. When we arrived at the hotel, the individual working wanted to see a copy of the confirmation. We did not have a printed copy, but I informed him it was on my Blackberry. The gentlemen then was insistent on reviewing my Blackberry emails. He was quite persistent to demonstrate that they had not made a mistake about the transportation pick up. We were not concerned, took it as a miscommunication, and planned to forget about it. The gentleman continued to be persistent wanting to review my Blackberry (which had a poor signal) to locate the multiple emails regarding the transportation arrangement. We felt he was more concerned with proving himself correct than checking us in. We were not even going to mention it once we arrived at the hotel, but he continued to bring it up. Unfortunately, that is the annoying memory we have of the hotel. Breakfast okay, lots of bugs flying around the food. The best part, again, was the location.

Hotel Bramante's location, staff and rooms are wonderful. It is tucked away on a quiet street a short walking distance from the Vatican and the rest of ancient Rome. The staff are gracious, friendy, and professional. The rooms and ensuites are very nicely furnished with A/C, critical for the summer. The hotel is immaculately clean and seems recently refurbished. The breakfast is a combination of Continental and Italian with cordial staff. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here as it is excellent value for money.
