A nice, small hotel with a welcoming staff and friendly owners. the hotel has been in the family since 1873 I was told. The breakfast is very good. My room had a window that looked on a little courtyard. The room was not huge, but large enough, very clean, and a little dark. The only drawback to my room was that the walls were thin and I could hear conversations next door and above. Also there was no bracket for the hand-held shower in the bath and so it could not be fixed to the wall for a real shower. Every room is different though, and as I left I was told that my room was the only one with that peculiar arrangement for the shower. Of course there is no elevator in such an old, small (charming) building, so people who need elevators should beware. It's an easy walk to St. Peter's and the Vatican. Borgo Pio street is around the corner, with restaurants and shops, but very closed up at night. Public transportation is limited in the area, though there is a #40 bus that stops about 6 blocks away.

We booked a triple room for a two night stay at the hotel Bramante and loved it. It´s a small hotel (only 16 rooms) located in an old building in a cobbled street. The front desk staff are super friendly and helpful, the breakfast buffet is really good and the location can´t be better. Just behind St Peter´s and a short walk from the bus stop that will take you back to Termini (number 40). We had room number 26 on the second floor. The room was spacious and had a flat screen TV, a complete basket of amenities in the bathroom and slippers for each guest. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel and a couple of bakeries. The tourist busses also stop nearby. A great find and a highly recommended property.

My wife and my son stayed in Hotel Bramante for 5 days and we loved it. This is the place if you want to be close to the Vatican and the Rome sightseing tour. The place was so conveniently located to everyplace. The staff were realy wonderful and very friendly. Everything was arranged for us including our shuttle from and into the airport. This is not some fancy hotel, but the people are so nice and accomodating that it became part of our excellent memories during our stay in Rome. This is the place that I will recommend to my families and friend if they want to visit Rome.

My family and me stayed at the Bramante for 5 nights during the end of september and beginning of october 2007. We found the hotel on the Internet and with some help from other hotels which were all occupied when we contacted them. We are very happy that the other hotels did not have any available rooms as we have now discovered a fantastic hotel with a superb location i Rome.

It was our first time in Rome, and travelling with children from 4 years and upwards can be a bit of a challenge. However, with the Hotel Bramante as our "home" and plenty of good advice from the frendliest staff you can possibly think of, our holliday turned out to be fantastic.

The hotel itself is very charming. We had a quadrople family room with an extra bed for the youngest member of the family. The room was very nice and clean. The bathroom was relatively small as you would expect in any big city, but could not have been nicer.

Every morning we all woke up looking forward to a fantastic breakfast (even if we had a bit too much to eat the night before). Fresh bread, good selection of cheeses, fresh fruits, ham, cereals, juices and even cakes, all topped up with fantastic coffee and hot chockolate for the children. On a scale from 1 to 10 with 10 as best, I would give the rating 11.

I have already recommende the hotel to other members of my family, and when we are going to Rome again, Bramante will be my obvious preferred choice.
