We (4 travellers) booked Hotel Magic because we checked its website and it looks so beautiful. It is totally misleading. We got there, and yes it is around the Termini station. Very little did we know that the area near station is not very safe. According to some local shop owners, any areas in Rome is pretty safe from any violence crime...but beware of pickpockets. Termini area has so many people coming from all over the place, and so packed, so again, beware of pickpockets! Local shop owners said, get out of there, don't walk at night...bla bla bla. So, we were so bothered by this and we decided to move to another hotel the next day. The next morning, the lady who owns the hotel was so mad at us that she refused to charge only the night we stayed...she wanted to charge us for 3 nights! We were arguing with her and she was extremely rude. She yelled at us, threw our reservation paper right in front of our face while raising her voice and her hands. It was the most terrible and rude thing we ever experienced. So, we ended up paying for 2 nights, although we only stayed for 1 night.
Another thing, although the room is nice, the bathroom is outside the room, and it smelled so bad. The shower has rust all over it, the bathroom floor was very slimy.
We ended up moving to an old hotel, in a nicer neighborhood around Park Borghese.
That morning full of arguing and yelling from the hotel owner put us in a very bad mood all day. Don't stay there.

Attracted by the ad on the web and mainly by good location. This is actually NOT a hotel by all means. It is just part of the last floor of an old building, run by a family which is obviously not professional. On their website says recently renovated, in reality just a little paint on the walls - windows do not close properly - bathroom installations work poorly - no heating during cold weather. On top of this, substandard breakfast. Worst of all is the attitude of management/personnel, making you wish never return. Please do not think going there!

I'm not sure where these pictures came from, but it couldn't have been Hotel Magic. First impression was negative--had to walk through areas where we didn't feel safe, seeing garbage stuffed into window grilles along the sidewalk. It was near the train station, which could be both good and bad. Good because you can walk from the train--bad because it's generally not the nicest part of town. This place was on the third floor (our fourth) with a very narrow, spiral staircase leading to it. Very tough to maneuver bags up and down (and I'm not a large person). The lift did not work. Staff wasn't particularly friendly and spoke VERY limited English. The room was not clean. I have used better towels to wash my car. The plastic cups in the bathroom had dried toothpaste on them. According to the website, we expected "a very good breakfast at their breakfast bar" -- not the case. You had to track someone down and get a handwritten slip and then walk about three blocks to a diner where you received one croissant and a small coffee. If you wanted anything above that, you had to pay more. We were also informed that we had to pay our final bill in cash--they didn't accept credit cards, very different from what the website states. If I could do it over again, I definitely would have stayed somewhere else. Buyer, beware.

This hotel was the worst that I ever stayed at. The owner was rude and gave people a curfew of when they had to be back in the hotel. The private bathroom she adversites is actually down the hall and other people use it. She was not helpful in any matter and we ended up leaving a day early because of the service and the rooms. The beutiful rooms they have on the website are not anything that they actully have. I would never recommed this hotel to anyone that I know.

The "Hotel" is located close to the train station, grocery shop, Laundromat/internet access, cheaper restaurants.

The "Hotel" is on the 3rd floor and there are 2 other hotels in the same building, 1st and 2nd floor. The lift can accommodate 3 people without luggage or 2 with 1 luggage + 1 hand carry.

The "Hotel" is more like a old apartment rather than a hotel (haven’t stayed in a 1 or 2 star hotel before, so maybe that is what it should look like). The centre of the building it has a square shape hole. There is a restaurant at the bottom. At night you can smell the cooking and cooking noise if you leave the windows open. Luckily in the month on June is quite cool the window was closed.

Their web site is nicely created but the actual differs to it. The bathroom/toilet looks like an old apartment bathroom. They won’t accept credit card. No wake up call. Breakfast is located in a shop on the next block serving only 1 drink and 1 bread roll eg. croissant. I am not sure where they get their pictures of the bathrooms maybe we got the worse old type bathroom which has some mold and rusty hanger. The extra bed sags in the middle. Not sure if they charge extra for aircond as the remote was removed. Was very disappointed with the web site advertisement and the actual experience. The owner lives in an apartment on the same floor.

On the day we had to check out the lift was not working so I have to carry all our bags down the windy steps :(
