II stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in March 2009 as part of an Insight vacations tour.
I put money in the safe which was located in the hotel room, the safe has a combination lock. When we checked the safe we found that cash was missing (750 Euros).
The hotel staff including the duty manager did not give a dam, they refused to call the police, thank God for the tour director for Insight who was very helpful.
The tour director and me had to walk about a mile through a very seedy part of Rome to locate a police station, even though the police were very helpful we were still there for about 2 1/2 hours.
I have a police report and a report from insight vacations.
Given my personal experience and the track record of this hotel I would not recommend it to anyone.
The rest of the tour with Insight was excellent.
The tour director form Insight could not have been more helpful, however I am still out 750 Euros and I have not yet heard form Insight vacations, in my customer feedback form at the end of the trip I indicated that I thought that Insight were negligent in not informing me of previous similar problems at this hotel, I am still waiting for a reply.

We stayed with them as a part of an Insight tour. Oh my, words will fail to describe how much I disliked this place, it's neighborhood, but I'll try.

While Paris gets a bad rap about being dirty, as of my last visit in Oct 08, it's undeserved, while Rome, the "Eternal City" where it's citizens dress so nicely, have really let their city go to pot. Graffiti everywhere, trash, homeless, beggers, gypsies, and enough people selling fake Omegas, Rolex's, Mont Blanc pens, and LV bags to choke a horse. While all this is bad, and detracts significantly from the history of this cradle of civilization, lets concentrate on the hotel.

Where to start; how about mold and water damage on the walls? Or the bathroom, with it's broken toilet seat, trim coming off the door, mold in the shower. The tour director asked if we reported the seat being broken, my response is simply don't they clean it daily? Shouldn't they have noted the issues? That is the problem in a nutshell, the management does not notice.

Now I've never run a hotel, but I'd be looking for new cleaning staff if they could ignore the state this place was in. The remote for the TV had no battery cover, and a year old piece of scotch tape trying (and failing ) to hold the battery in.

The dining room (a bright spot by appearance in this wreck), had major issues. Our last day there the staff were in tears, and the eggs looked like warmed-over leftovers from the previous day, ugh. Seriously unhappy people not working, not bringing you coffee, and sullen when you interrupted whatever was going-on.

How they can claim four stars, even in Italy, where let's be honest, hotel ratings standards don't seem to match the rest of Europe, is beyond me.

To sum it up, I disliked this hotel with just about every fiber of my being. We only stayed because we were a part of a tour group, otherwise, we would have been so out-of-there.

And yes, it is close to the Termini Station, but in Rome, that's not a good thing. The neighborhood is not one you want to take a casual stroll through after dinner. Even the little square in the front of the hotel, with the overflowing trash bins and permanent homeless people camped out points to this being a neighborhood in decline.

It's a pity that for all the attention the people of Rome spend on looking good, they don't seem to take more pride in their beautiful city.

  • Liked — That I only had to stay three days.
  • Disliked — The broken toilet seat, the moldy walls, the eggs saved from the previous day...

arrived there on the 25th november, the hotel is in a very "ordinary" part of town about 2km walk from the main station. something you wouldn,t do at night. when we were ready for bed pulled the bed covers back to find a large bug running across the bed sheet and lava eggs under the pillow. the hotel staff were rude and didn,t want to know. finally after a standoff they moved us to another room.
i have never stayed in a hotel were the staff are so rude and unhelpful. would not this hotel recommend to anyone.

Was very excited having met my wife after 2 weeks apart(she was in europe with girlfriends) After checking in thought the hotel was lovely had a shower and after locking all valuables in the safe went out for dinner One hour later returned to room and safe was gone room ransacked no sign of forced entry. Luckily passports were at reception No help from desk staff who wanted us to go to police we had them tell the police to come to the hotel after all we werent robbed on the street After being put in a much smaller room with single beds in the morning they tried to make us pay for the room with no cash or credit cards this was never going to happen which they did not get. If you stay here do not leave valuables in your room We were not the only ones this happened to

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights as part of a Trafalgar tour. Our room was on the ground floor so had french doors out to a very private patio - nice to sit out in the evening. The room itself was very comfortable, clean and with a full bathroom with tub. Others were not so lucky having only a very small shower. The breakfast was the usual variety of pastries, cereal, yogurt, etc which is more than enough for me. The staff were very friendly even if they didn't all know alot of english - they had our keys out and ready for us before we even asked! There was only one computer set up with internet in the lobby but at least it worked - in other hotels we weren't so lucky. The hotel itself was conveniently located near the Termini train station where one could get on the Metro or catch a bus to almost anywhere in the city. There were also restaurants and grocery/wine stores handy. All in all we enjoyed our stay - this hotel had everything we needed.
