Due to a late booking, rooms in Rome were difficult to obtain. Now I know why this hotel was available. It is described as having an elevator, but one must walk up stairs to get to it. It is described as having air conditioning, but this is available at only certain hours of the day. Even though the hours of operation, including nighttime hours are posted on the controls, the A/C was not available at night. The explanation was after September 15 no air conditioning would be provided at night. However it was still very warm and opening the window only let in noise from a very busy street below. Between the heat and the noise sleeping was difficult.
The staff was not helpful. Nice glass ice buckets are provided, but to get ice one must ask the desk agent. In our situation, a small amount of ice was provided from a regular ice cube tray from a kitchen refrigerator.
Rooms are small which is not unexpected but seemed smaller because of the heat. Cleanliness acceptable.
Our reservations were actually for 2 nights, but we arrived in the morning rather than the previous night. I expected to pay for the full 2 days reservations but when I asked the manager to waive the minibar fees (2 waters and a beer) because of our inconvenience with the A/C he refused.
My impression that the hotel's policy is to maximize income and minimize convenience.

We stayed at the Hotel Paris in October 2005. We arrived late and, despite our emailing in advance to say we had a late flight, they had a problem with room allocation and we found ourselves in separate, single rooms, for our first night in the Eternal City. The rooms were so small that you could lie in bed and touch the opposite wall. They changed our room the next day and it was more like dormitory - two single beds positioned foot to foot. Again the room was very small and narrow. It's my guess that most of the rooms will be very small and somewhat dark. Overall, the Hotel is looking a bit 'well used' although the rooms while not spotless, are clean.

The good bits? The location is great, just a short walk to the Trevi and right in the middle of lots of restaurants.

Stayed here one night only and we were glad it was only one night. Very basic room and basic breakfast with horrible coffee. We had stayed for 4 nights before at the Rezidence Cellini around the corner, which was only €20 more a night and incomparably better. The Hotel Paris is perhaps better than sleeping on the street.

We were walked here by the Notti a Roma B&B across the street and stayed for E90. The room was the tiniest we had throughout Italy--literally had to walk sideways between bed and wall. Bath was small, but both rooms were clean. They had not turned on the A/C yet so we had to keep the windows closed to keep out the noise--thank goodness it cooled off enough at night. Breakfast was a buffet of breads, toast, juice, and coffee. Staff was nice.

This hotel needs renovation. There was mold and peeling wallpaper in both rooms we tried and bathrooms needed a good scrubbing around the edges. The windows were very dirty. One room had a dip in the floor where there was a hole in the subflooring under the carpet.
The breakfast was poor.
The staff was good.
For only a little more we had stayed at Residenza Cellini which I would rate excellent in every respect.
