Not a bad place to stay really. There were 5 in our group, ages 17-54. We booked two rooms - one was a suite. Beds were comfortable, rooms clean and roomy enough, service good. If you don't mind taking the bus and Metro, you can do pretty well at this hotel by saving a few bucks on the room (you may need the extra money due to the pitiful value of the dollar against the Euro). Actually, the bus ride to the subway is less than a mile and they run frequently. Was a pretty good way to get around and get a sense of how people really live and travel in Rome. There are rwo restaurants within walking distance which we found to be good choices for evening meals. There is also the Crown Plaza Hotel next door which has a restaurant, casual dining room, and a bar. All in all, I thought this was a good choice given the size of our group and our budget. Everyone had a good time.

The hotel at first appears out of the center, however once you become used to the short bus trip it is especially pleasant being out of the bustle of Rome. It is very conveniently located near the Vatican and Trasteverie and the many restaurants. The apartment provided us with a lot more space than an equivalent Hotel room, especially useful for teenage children. At first the bathroom had a terrible smell, however as a veteran of Italian Condo's this was easily solved by running the taps for a few minutes and replenishing the S traps. The smell disappeared overnight. The Hotel restaurant put on an extensive continental breakfast is a stylish sala di mangio. The swimming pool was accessible, however with too many sites to see, it never got used. The hotel staff spoke perfect English and helped us with bus tickets, tour information and taxis etc. We would be pleased to stay there again; it's not the ritz, but a comfortable entirely adequate and friendly hotel with plenty of room for 2 adults in a private room and 2 teenagers (beds in lounge room).

I noticed that mainly the bad reviews are written by people staying in the summer time. Well duh, it's hot in Rome people.

I stayed in June and had a plesant stay. Only main issue was the swimming pool which felt below freezing and you had to pay 2 Euros for the towel. Bring a blue towell and you can skip the fee (that is a towell for each person by the way). Other than that it was great. 5 night stay, had a balcony where we had the door open at night that cooled us off. The staff was very helpful and advised us of the bus schedules and alternate things to do around the area.

You don't need a taxi (don't waste you money). The bus is supposed to be only 1 Euro each way but you don't have to pay. Just hope on board and within a few stops you are to the Underground station. The bus was crowded but so what. You are only standing for a few stops. I guess some people are little princesses.

There is a great restaurant around the corner called Birbante (ask the front desk and they'll point you to the right direction). Very reasonably priced and good food.

Minor issues with the hotel is you have to pay for the kitchen utensils (but the stove and fridge worked fine). Also, the bed was harder than most I've slept in and the bathroom ceiling slanted down so I had to watch my head around the toilet. Other than that I would recommend.

The room smell like a toilet. A/C was only running between 1:30 pm to
12 am andit was HOT - and when it was running, it was noisy and didnt
work well. The room was extensively worn out. So if it is the last hotel with free rooms - dont bother - cancel your vacation, and find another time to visit Rome.
