The hotel is rather a large complex on the outskirts of the centre of Rome. We visited the hotel twice as part of a Tourama tour of Italy. The first time we visited we were located in a small apartment type room with a tiny kitchen area and a small, clean bathroom. The balcony looked out onto the hotel gardens.
There was ‘entertainment’ at the hotel every night and on our first stay this was a gentleman who believed he was much better at being a DJ and singer than he was. Guests on the tour were divided about how they felt about him. Some were annoyed at the lack of peace in the evening and had been kept awake, others, like myself, thought it was hilarious!
We only ate breakfast at this hotel. The breakfast was self service cold, continental buffet style. The croissants were delicious.
The second time we stayed, on the return leg of the tour, we had a room on the same corridor but it was HUGE. We loved it. The room featured a large lounge area and enormous balcony. Unfortunately, we only slept there one night. If you are on the tour it seems simply down to luck which type of room you get but I think having two single beds helps.
The hotel is located close to the Cornelia tube station. Walk out of the hotel, down the long drive and turn left. Continue down the main Aurelia road and turn left at the McDonalds. (There are lots of restaurants and cafes of all types near the hotel) The tube station sign should be visible within seconds. The walk takes about fifteen minutes maximum.
The tube tickets are very cheap and the trains are frequent and clean. It was nothing like the tube in London and not intimidating. There are only two lines, so you don’t need to fear getting lost. They roughly form a cross with the Termi in the middle. Cornelia is on line A which, you can use to reach the Trevi Fountain. If you change at the termi for line B you can get to the Colosseum. Clearly, between the two lines you get everywhere!
I liked this hotel and I thought it was in a very good location for sightseeing in Rome. I would go back again.
