“Nice clean hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

We spent 5 nights at Hotel Lloyd and found it to be a very good value. The rooms were large, by European standards and very comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed some of the restaurants around the hotel and once you got used to the bus line, it was easy to navigate the city. Although bus #62 was a long wait at times! We would stay here again!

We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights b&b in early May. This was the closest affordable hotel we could find 'last minute' near the Termini and many of the sights we wanted to see. We arrived in Rome by bus from the airport at termini and walked to the hotel with our luggage (backpacks), which was quite easy to find and not too far - about 20 minutes.
All our sightseeing was done on foot and walked from the hotel. It will take about 45 to 1 hour to walk to the Vatican City and 30 minutes to the Colosseum.
The area around the hotel we felt was safe and quite (by Rome standards) with several restaurants, bar and ice cream parlours within strolling distance. There is also a Spar shop nearby. There is no restaurant in the hotel so you would have to eat out.
Hotel was clean and presentable, room was cleaned everyday, the size of the room was average and it was quite at night. There are no tea/coffee facilities in the room but there is a mini bar (which we used to chill our own drinks) and a free combination safe. Breakfast was varied and we had no problems getting a table even though the breakfast room seemed small in relation to the number of rooms in the hotel.
Receptionist spoke some English but didn't let us know about the tourist tax on arrival (we expected to pay this as had read recent reviews) this was €2 per person per night.
We would recommend it and would stay here again unless we were able to find somewhere as affordable closer to the centre.

Great stay...great service. Great hotel
Great location on a nice street with a coffee shop opposite which offers coffees for 1 euro which are amazing & a great pizza restaurant next door with amazing pizza could not recommend enough.
Nice that's it's not in the centre so you are not ripped off.

We stayed in the hotel for 7 nights. You are charged a 2 euro charge for each adult, each night of your stay which is not included when you make your booking. The breakfasts were fine, they did have bacon and scrambled egg, a selection of cold meat, fruit, tea, coffee, bread etc enough for starting off your morning. I would make one suggestion and that would be to put tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms, as in the evening you need a little revival although you can order from room service. Stephanie on reception was very helpful and provided the information required during our stay, very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were a good size, beds were comfortable and the shower, although small, was very powerful. There is a hairdryer in the bathroom also. I couldn't really fault the hotel and would stay here again. It is about a 10 to 15 minute walk from the centre but it is a nice and refreshing walk. You can catch the 90 bus from termini or from the main street near the hotel if you don't want to walk. There are some restaurants near the hotel, although we did try two of these and were not very impressed. We did, however, find a lovely restaurant in Via Goito called La Capitale, very friendly service and nice meals, we went back to this restaurant due to our experiences there.

Room Tip: We chose a room for two adults and one child and had a section of the room with a master double bed...

We stayed for 3 nights in this hotel and were very pleased. Room was very clean, as were all areas of the hotel. Staff very helpful, breakfast excellent. Location was okay, although quite a long way from things to see, there is a metro about 10 mins walk away which means you can get anywhere quickly! There are a few excellent places to eat on the same street as the hotel where you wont pay high prices for great food. Overall, a great price in what can be a very expensive city! Would definately recommend!

I was in Rome for business and stayed at this hotel for one week in January 2013.
I booked a single room. The room was well furnished. It was very clean and secure.
The staff was very polite and willing to help.
For a wi-fi connection in the room you should get a pass at the reception desk.
The buffet breakfast was very good and you even can order a traditional Italian express.
The hotel is situated near the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport at Porta Pia bus stop.
It is well connected with the rest of Rome via bus system.
From "Termini" Railway station to "Porta Pia" bus stop, take bus no. 90 every 10 min or no. 60L to every 15 min.
Better to book in advanced because this hotel is verythe hotel is very frequented for business purposes as well as for city trip.

First European trip was rewarded with a find of this hotel. Cozy and comfortable, clean and quiet...compared to the 4-star we stayed in one night this hotel beat it hands down...especially with the "5-star" breakfast! The staff was very helpful from setting up tours to recommending superb local food.
