We found this hotel to be a delightful calm place to stay in a busy city. The room we stayed in was very clean and well presented, the staff were exceptionally pleasant and helpful, with good english speaking skills.

The location of the hotel in a spacious parkland setting provided an air of serenity and shelter from the bustle and noise of the city. This in itself is something to savour in a city like Rome.

It is a large hotel that goes about its business with professionalism and a client focus. I cannot fault the service we received over a three night stay.

The hotel is also located within easy walking distance of an underground station which provides quick and convenient access to the central districts of Rome. A great place to stay while in Rome - comfortable, quiet and safe.

Orignally we were booked at the sister hote, SUMMIT ROMA, on the same road...but they decided that they ran out of rooms at that hotel and on our 3rd night, would need to move us to THIS hotel.
THe summit was TERRIBLE, as i thought this place would be.
But...i was supprised. THe front desk staff is something left to be desired, but the room was very clean, very new (flat screen tv, marble floors, internet access, new shower). i appreciated it ALOT after our horror hotel the SUmmit. they booked me and my friends in double rooms by mistake in this hotel (we paid for singles)..we kept our mouths shut and enjoyed it. the rooms were big, 2 beds, lots of space, a nice window (overlooking, nothing really, but nice) WORKING A/C. alot of tv channels.
Taxis had a problem getting in and out after dark because they put the gate up and you have to ring the outside call box to have them opened. but all in all ...a really nice place.
VERY BIG PLACE
and still too far from anything in rome (have 2 take the expensive taxis everywhere!) i would say to stay here if the deal is good, but i would recommend..if you are a tourist, stay somewhere closer to sights in rome, at least one site u can walk to)

  • Liked — Very New, Very Clean

Hotel looks good and appearance is good.... but WARNINGS:

Generally staff indifferant except for Marco in the bar and the room maids.

Rooms of various standards, some very small with limited wardrobe space. Garden view rooms can be anywhere not overlooking the internal areas. If you want a room overlooking what appears to be gardens, you need to request 'overlooking the park'. Other rooms classed as overlooking gardens can be over kitchen service road (including the rubbish bins), a nearby road and also their junior suites (supposed to be superior) can be over a very noisy air conditioning unit outside which operates all night. Would advise you confirm your requirements in writing.

Room and bar service advertised until 10.00pm but actually finishes earlier than this except for very average pizzas and toasted sandwiches. Advisable to check before ordering.

The hotel lives up to its name in that it truly is GRAND. All the public areas of the hotel are huge (think The Shining with Jack Nicholson), the hotel grounds are serene, and is located a short walk from the Metro. Our room was just renovated and was very clean and nice. Probably due to its sheer size, the hotel is popular with large tour groups and flight attendants. I personally like to stay in the thick of things when I go to places, and this hotel is on the other side of the river near the Vatican City (only positive for me). It is about a 15-20 minute Metro ride to the Colosseum area, which is more happening with piazzas and historical sites.

A lovely peaceful hotel to return to after the hustle and bustle of Rome.
Down a long drive, well away from the road.
Friendly and helpful staff. Large, clean room(on 2nd floor - apparently some rooms are very small tho')
Good enough breakfast tho' fruit is tinned and coffee machine didn't work very well.
Lovely internal courtyard as part of bar.
Metro station about 5 mins walk (end of drive, right to MacDonalds, left then about 150 yds) 1Euro to centre (or anywhere!). Trains very frequent.
Excellent restaurant, Gustasando's, across road from Metro station.
All in all, a good place to stay

  • Liked — peaceful atmosphere
  • Disliked — breakfast coffee machine
  • Tips/Secrets: — Use the metro for cheap access to central Rome
